isn't it time we had the "best comic book film 2007 version" ready.....

Batman Begins, closely followed by X2 and Spider-Man 2 (which are about tied).
These movies are definitely quality films.

X2 : X-men United, but SM-2 and BB tie for second.

This movie is very underrated.
It's one of the best comic book films out there, IMO.

It truly is. It's beautiful, it's elegant, truly epic, spectacular...and yet some viewers can't accept it because there are no fight scenes with supervillains.

I love all three, but if I have to pick one, then its Bats.

I also like the Hulk and S.R. as well.

I would think that the modern era of Superhero films started with Spider-Man which came out in 2001.

I may sound crazy here but I see the Spider-Man trilogy as one big ass movie, so I'll vote for those, closely followed by the dream that is Batman Begins.

It technically started with Blade, but it is widely considered to jump off once X-Men (2000) was a success.

I'd say that's a pretty accurate analysis.

My thoughts exactly.
Just because there were no huge fight scenes, just because the film seemed to have a side-plot rehash of Superman: The Movie, just because you disagree with Superman having an illegitimate son with Lois, it shoudn't change the overall critique of the film. Bryan Singer's vision and direction transcended all of the commonly referenced "flaws". I had to put my fanboyism aside, and accept the film for what it was. The depth of the Superman, and showing how he had to adjust himself in a world that he had been away from for 5 years, John Ottman's score, the amazing visuals, and the overall atmosphere were among the things I loved about the movie.
