Best Twist/Shock Endings

Oh! Just thought of a really good one! BASIC has an AWESOME twist ending. In the right role, Travolta f**king rocks.
Yeah the twist was nice but it didn't really have that wow factor. They revealed it a bit too soon and didn't feel the drama i felt with something like Saw.:yay:

i'ma go with....
6Th Sense, Se7en, Fallen, Saw....and i thought Fight Club had a good twist to it.
Agreed about Fight Club. In the book, you're given a few more hints before the revelation about Tyler, but it's still good.

Citizen Cane has such a great twist to it. Way ahead of its time.

The Machinist had a fantastic shock at the end as well. All through the movie (even just watching the trailer), you kind of suspect that [BLACKOUT]the other guy is only in Trevor's head, but the real shocker was why the fantasy manifested itself in the first place.[/BLACKOUT]

Im sure its been mentioned but Kill Bill Volume 1 had a awsome ending, with Bill saying that she had a kid.

The Skeleton Key with Kate Hudson. That had a good ending.

is this more of a twist you're speaking of or a shock?

you knew it was mr orange before it was revelead?

Here's one for you: the twist at the end of Secret Window.

Up until that point, I thought it was going to have a great conclusion... it had all the elements... good characters, good actors, good story, and then lo and behold, it turns out to suck. Didn't see that coming!

lol;

works well for a book but not a movie.

All of Stephen King's movie suck... compared to the books.

I stayed away from all the Batman Begins spoilers, but even I knew that Liam was Ras. It was easy to figure out, Ras is a main villian for Batman, why would they hire an unknown (the asian guy) to be him and have Liam be his second in charge? It didn't make sense, now if they had cast a very famous actor as the leader of the group (say Sean Connery), then I might have fallen for it.

If you like sucky movies with stupid endings, then yes. :)

Not one of you mentioned Dead Man's Shoes.

Dead Man's Shoes
Dead Man's Shoes
Dead Man's Shoes

One of the most underrated films of our time, best British film in a decade. More people need to see Dead Man's Shoes, dang it!

Uh... the asian guy wasn't an unknown  He was played by Ken Watanabe.

The Machinist reminded me of a kinda Hitchcock movie, it was awesome....

The ride part was pretty freaky as well :o

ken wantanbe is an unknown?? try telling tom cruise that, he'll stomp on you as if you were a couch

He was unknown to about 70% of the general audience before Last Samurai, including me so i think that makes Watanabe pretty unknown.

Back to the topic of the thread.:cwink: Bandits has a funny twist at the end.Good film btw.

It wasn't exactly the best twist in a film, but deserves a notice: The Skeleton Key. Comes tomind: The Others, too. I think The Others is better, though.

I admit it might not have been the best film but I don't think you could have seen the twist coming.

I agree. I actually quite enjoyed the film.

yeah, that ending ruined the movie. not to mention it became ridiculously predictable in very little time.

better movie, no doubt. but you COULD see that end coming.

I've seen a lot of twist endings, many of which were good, but I still remember the day I was a very little kid sitting in my grandmothers den watching Empire Strikes Back on VHS, and finding out Darth was Lukes father. You could have knocked me over with a feather.

That and the Planet of the Apes endings are my favorites.

Did anyone mention "The Others"?
Even though madTV spoiled that ending for most.

Also, for some reason my friends didn't see the ending to Hide and Seek coming.... somehow.
