Best X-Men Roster

I'm sure this has been asked before, but throughout it's history which roster of X-Men do you think was the best?

I've always like the team of Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, and Kitty Pryde.

The best, IMO, was the Claremont/Paul Smith era team: Cyclops, Storm, Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Wolverine (and later Rogue).

Tied with a close second to the Claremont/Bryne era team of Cyclops, Phoenix, Storm, Banshee, Wolverine, Colossus and Nightcrawler.

Other cool teams, IMO, are the Astonishing line-up (Cyclops, Emma Frost, Kitty Pryde, Wolverine, Colossus, Beast) and the Outback line-up (Havok, Dazzler, Longshot, Colossus, Rogue, Storm, Psylocke, Goblin Queen)

Any combination that doesn't have Storm, Wolverine or Emma. Particularly the Pre Giant #1 team of Scott, Jean, Warren, Hank, Bobby, Alex and Lorna.

Just gotta get a time machine, and we could have the ultimate roster of:

-Wolverine from when he fought the Hulk in his debut
-Wolverine as a new X-Man
-Wolverine in his brown and orange costume from the 80's
-Bone claws Wolverine
-New X-Men era Wolverine with the depressing all black costume
-X-23, so the team isn't a complete sausage fest

But seriously, my favorite team is probably the one circa the Mutant Massacre:

-Wolverine
-Storm
-Colossus
-Nightcrawler
-Rogue
-Kitty
-Psylocke was about to join the team

That was a really good team. Especially with Magneto serving as the headmaster.

A close second is the Mutant Masacre team that ahs already been mentioned.

I also have to second the Mutant Massacre team. The outback team edges it out slightly because I really like Havok's characterization during that time.

Angel (unless he's hanging with the Renegades, in which case he gets a pass)
Cable (with full-on telepathy and telekinesis)
Rogue
Gambit
Cannonball

In the comics themselves, I'd have to go with the blue and gold teams. That was probably my favorite era of X-Men comics growing up, before I learned about stuff like back-issues and the Claremont era. I wound up growing really attached to those portrayals of the blue and gold team members, too.

I liked the pre-Onslaught Bishop/Gambit stories. They made a good team.
