Drama Better Call Saul! - Breaking Bad Spinoff A Go At AMC - Part 1

So that montage of Kim getting ready was weird.

I figured Chuck would try to keep his quarrel with Jimmy out of court. Jimmy is right to call his bluff. Howard would be wise to talk Chuck out of fighting Jimmy in public but I don't think he'll be able to.

Seeing Gus gave me a blast of nostalgia but Giancarlo Esposito seems so much older it was a bit jarring.

I think the Kim montage sort of fits with what Doctor Jones was saying. It is establishing just how much Kim has given up to build her own firm. She is now living in her office, sleeping on the couch, and buying a gym membership so she can shower in their locker room. She has literally become homeless in order to build her firm. Which is going to make it sting all the more when she loses everything due to her connections to Jimmy and his shady dealings.

Jarring? He looks fine to me

Yeah, any aging has been minimal at most.

Also why she could not defend Jimmy in court and that partnering up with him at the end will threaten her job at Mesa Verde and, by extension, her firm.

I keep getting sort of terrified for Kim. She doesn't deserve to get burned even though I know it has to be coming.

Okay, so.... is Mike's daughter-in-law going to remarry and have another daughter soon or something? Because unless the kid has Benjamin Button syndrome, her age on this show in comparison to Breaking Bad doesn't make a lick of goddamn sense.

I....hadn't even thought about that. Huh.

It didn't really bother me too much in past seasons because she looked about the same age on Breaking Bad, and y'know, whatever, maybe she has what Gary Coleman had.

But tonight, she looked like an eight year old when, on Breaking Bad, she was what? Five or six?

I thought she was a little older than that on BB (like 9-ish), but not old enough to account for the time jump.

EDIT: For what it's worth, the Breaking Bad Wiki says she was 10 when we met her on that show. So I still don't think that tracks.

Yeah that's been my only issue with this show since the beginning, but I try to avoid it whenever she shows up.

Also, it's great to see everyone slowly coming back like Don Eladio and Bolsa.

First half of this episode I thought I was watching Breaking Bad again.

Kobe!

I kind of want to work for Gus Fring tbh.

Not on the drug side, mind you. I don't want to get the box cutter... :o

Not that this show wasn't good before but it's gotten so much better for me now that Gus is involved. Goddamn...

I wonder how they're gonna bring in Huell and Kuby.

Get a super skinny guy to play Huell and CGI Lavell Crawford's face onto his body.

I don't quite follow what Jimmy is going to do with those photos. Prove Chuck is unstable?

The comment about the lantern on the newspapers certainly suggests that.

Season 2 and the episodes of season 3 so far have all been fantastic. I don't think the first season is as good.

PS. I think Jimmy met Huell until S3 of BB so I doubt he'll show up in this series.
