Beware the Batman

I'm serious folks that Batman is an extraterrestrial

I'm really looking forward to saturdays episode.

I LOVE Tara Strong... but is it not a little weird that she's playing Barbara again. She the DCAU Batgirl. You kind of expect to hear Kevin Conroy's Batman opposite her.

It would be like bringing Loren Lester back to play a future Robin on this show.

Going back a few pages, im curious as to where gamerslyratchet found the 26 episode list?

From a couple of people in ToonZone from a streaming site.

I would have written it off as rumor if not for the fact that "Safe" has been listed on TV guides as airing on August 3rd.

I finally watched the pilot. It is very good, but I agree that the CGI animation is terrible. Here's the thing though, have you guys seen the DreamWorks Dragon show? The CGI is spectacular. It's almost as good as the movie. If Batman, as well as Nick's TMNT, had that level of CGI it would be awesome to watch.

That's because (I think) the Dragon show has the same CGI models as the movie. They just reuse the stuff from the film, so they don't have to spend loads of time creating new visual content.

I think he's something akin to Man-Bat in that he was genetically altered to become an anthropromorphic frog. I believe he went from frog to half frog/man as opposed to man half man/frog however.

Anyone see the latest episode, "Secrets"? It's pretty good. The world doesn't feel as bustling and lived-in (budget/time limits or something I guess) as it should, but I otherwise liked the story.

What? Man-Bat is in the show? I thought they were staying away from the main villains?

Yeah I saw "Secrets" today and thought it was good. I didn't see the twist coming with Magpie. And I'm glad that Tatsu isn't Katana yet that she's going to develop into it eventually.

Let the tests begin.

Man-Bat is not a main villain by far, it's the likes of Joker, Two-Face, Penguin, Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

Some 'Secrets' thoughts:
- Detective mode Batman is always on whether the costume is or not. There is quite a bit of this in these first couple of episodes.
- Magpie looked pretty risque for what I thought was a kids show. I guess good job with [BLACKOUT]the mislead as to who she was, it got me[/BLACKOUT]. Love Grey's voice as I've become a fan of hers in other shows like Mystery Incorporated or as the new Carmelita voice in the latest Sly Cooper video game.
- The episode opened with a recap of the last episode with a "previously on..." There's a definite serialized nature to the show besides the more standalonish plots with the villains.
- Small Barbara introduction! With Tatsu's role not really fleshed out yet as a sidekick maybe it would be better for Babs to be Oracle.
- Gordon gets a better introduction in this episode than the last.

Did anyone else noticed the Argus key Batman found in Bethany Ravencroft's desk?

I have a feeling she's not as innocent as she initially seemed.

Did not expect Barbara to shown this early. And she's quite eager to meet Batman so who knows?

Glad they're doing serialized material, gives better motivation to do longer arcs.

Yeah, heck, maybe Batman will form the Outsiders to match againts the Argus? Outsiders we're originally Batman's black ops, because the Justice League/Superman we're not allowed to get politically heated.

Pretty good episode. I liked how much of a hard time Magpie gave Batman. He got his butt whooped a couple of times. I can hear the "Batman can do no wrong" crowd crying now.

I'm liking the show so far. Love Bruces/Batmans detective side being flaunted, the humor worked well, the action is well staged, and the character relationships are well handled so far. I honestly don't have a problem with how anything looks aside from Gotham being to sterile at times. I actually like Batmans look. People are just too nitpicky imo.

Man-Bat is totally a main Batman villain. He was the first villain in Batman: TAS, he had a major comic arc recently in the New 52 and is still prevalent in the comics. He's totally a main villain.

He's still not highly recognizable to the general public... Not like you Jokers, Catwomans, Riddlers, Penguins, etc.

And they said they were focusing on the lesser known villians, but not that they were excluding the (potentially) more well known ones at the same time.

Pfeiffer speaks the truth, i mean, the show does have Ras' al Ghul, who definitely has more fans than Man-Bat.

Man-Bat a MAIN Batman villain? Ahaha hahahaha hahahahaha

Man-Bat is totally a C- or D-lister at best.

But still totally awesome in Batman: The Animated Series all the same.
