....Forgive me if this has been guessed elsewhere. I haven't seen it. I've watched the trailer many times, and really thought about the scope of this movie and the saga as a whole. I've also thought about Nolan and his whole philosophy with the saga and his films. It looks like this film is bringing things full circle, and is a direct sequel and bookend to Begins. I also thought of what the true meaning of the title could be, and the casting reports we've heard regarding Josh Pence and others. I also thought of Nolan's dialogue from the Prestige, regarding the Pledge, the Turn, and the Prestige. What if he tried that on a grand scale with probably his only trilogy ever?

All of these things could be neatly brought together and summed up, by answering : What if Bane is really...R'as Al Ghul? Not the next dread pirate Roberts R'as Al Ghul, but really him, Ducard, Liam Neeson, the one we thought died? Is he not immortal? Aren't his methods supernatural? Why is Bruce back in a League of Shadows looking place? Why are they chanting "Rise?" is it from a Lazarus pit? Is the title referring to Batman or R'as? Why is Bane in so much pain, and his face and voice obscured? Is it because it's really R'as, in pain and deformed by his near death "resurrection" from the Lazarus pit?
