I don't mind Carlie. But I don't like the classic comic assumption that because she's a scientist she must know about every field of science.

Peter had a deal with Spider-Man about photos in the Bugle, at least that's what he made people believe. Will Dr. Modell remember that?

I think Fred Van Lente has some affinity for National Treasure

Is anyone else here reading Invincible Iron Man? Issue 500 has Spider-Man as a guest star
I skimmed through it after reading some info in the previews showing Iron Man vs Doc Ock, this issue didn't seem to have that
Salvador Larroca draws Peter like a different actor every time?
In Sensational Spider-Man annual of 2007 he drew Peter like Tom Cruise
Amazing Spider-Man 549-552 he drew Peter like Jake Gyllinghail
In IIM he looks different, even not the same as he did back in issue 7 of the recent Iron Man series, I don't recognized who Peter is modelled after here

I still think it looked like Jake Gyllinghail.

That is such a simple, yet true observation. There is no such job as "scientist." An astrophysicist probably doesn't know much about genealogy. Carlie is a forensic scientist right? Then her knowledge of other fields should be limited to what our knowledge of other fields are.

Also, MJ is smarter than her. :oldrazz: to Dan Slott

The final scene really touched me, seeing Marla dying in Jonah's arms, and Jonah admits his responsibility, not blaming Spider-Man
I'm looking forward to see Spider-Man without his warning sense, though he should be used to it for the many times he fought Venom

The government project with Venom reminds me of The Invisible Man television series

Wait so blast took away his spidersense for good? I figured it was just a temp deal.
Nothing is said of how long it would last

I can't believe they killed Marla....
I didn't believe it myself at first

I wonder though....
How many of you know the Symbiote's power set as originally laid out?
I have a theory on this, i'll explain more after everyone chimes in...
I know
Almost everyone I saw thought the powers the symbiote add are what we had in the 90s cartoon, and was copied later

Wow, am I glad I stopped buying this book. They went on and on telling us they had big original crap for us. Now, not only does this guy not seem like Spider-man, it's just another New Avengers book AND Fantastic Four book.

What the hell is the point anymore? We don't get an unmasking story. They won't kill aunt may off and were lying about despite the fact that it has already been done and done well, by the well. It's just selling...

Wait. He doesn't have his Spider-sense anymore?

It's funny. To me, I remember hating JRJr's work during the 90s. Everone looked so square-headed, and the shading he did with all the lines of mesh over people's faces annoyed the crap out of me.

And then when he came back to Spidey when JMS arrived, from then on to today he's become my favorite all-time Spidey artists (along with Bagley).

I get a kick out of looking at his style changes throughout the years... the stuff he did back in the 80's is far different than the last decade... though I thought he was trying to imitate Paul Smith back then...I still think he's a great artist, though his Avengers' work has been blah to me...

At first I was a tad weary of Octopus' 'new look'. It justs seemed like a silly update to just add...more arms.

But now its really growing on me and honestly...I hope it stays for a while.

Another bad thing about being JRJR is that are people that will go 'Well, you're not your dad...' 'he's practically a legend.' 'he was so influential'

Not to his face, though.:word:

Im dying to see more Phil-Goblin!

I agree with ben_reilly_s_s about the declining quality of JRjr art, I think his work is good, but in the past 8 years his arts quality declined a bit. I still think his classic art from the 70s & 80s is the best

Just read ASM 655, and that guy at the end is just plain scary, I don't want to be a hostage to anyone, especially not him
