Agreed. I hope Nolan watches the Watchmen

and realises that atmosphere isnt a bad thing when done right. I dont want him to do a jerk reaction and give us the exact opposite of his realism, but some BB aura would be nice to see in the sequel again. We never got to see batman in a classic gritty Gotham neighbourhood (like the Narrows in BB) or jump from dirty rooftop to another.
Exactly, The Batman Begins atmosphere was fine, even if I'd like a tiny bit more Gotham atmosphere the Narrows more than made up for that. Then TDK is just too much for me, the fact that it is about the freaks taking over and making things worse meant it would've been better if the atmosphere was darker. Not a huge problem for me, just a gripe.
Well it served as a way for batman to take the fall and all (that wouldnt be possible if dent was alive) and justify the title "dark knight", so i accepted that. I however couldnt accept the controversial way in which he died. And dont get me started about the dead ninjas in BB. Your one rule Bruce?
Definitely, you can't excuse it. It wasn't "Necessary!" or "A casualty!" Batman killed him. Which works in the confines of this Bat universe but totally maims the point that Batman is incorruptible that the whole film was building towards. Then he kills a guy. And not just indirectly.
Two Face=Badass
I don't agree with the criticism about Jokers plan being to contrived. Joker is known for his elaborate and ridiculous schemes, infact I think that is one of the main definitions of his character.
Yes, I know that, I read the comics and he sometimes has far more contrived plans. But the difference is that those ones don't require massive leaps of logic and guessing. Seriously, the Joker would never be able to know how fast Batman or the cops could get to the two locations to save Dent and Rachel, so everything he does is based on huge estimation. He somehow psychically knows that Batman will reach him just in time, but not the cops. And also his escape plan from the prison was based entirely around being able to tussle a guard, when he never knew what would happen. I just wish it was more like "The Laughing Fish" scenario where Joker wins a lot yes, but wins in a way thats works.
I never said he didn't laugh, don't twist my words, that reeks of poor argument. I'm just saying he should've been a bit more like the comics Joker and laughed a bit more, or told a joke, or not looked so serious all the time. The end was the best part with that huge laugh, but he still should've been a bit more gleeful really.
Again, loved the movie, but it ain't perfect. I'm ready to take all arguments, because I know having a couple of gripes with the movie is a big sin on this board for some reason.
