I don't see how the editing was bad in that scene. What, coz it didn't actually show Joker land the death blow? A PG-13 wouldn't be allowed to show that.
How was the editing bad?
I'm not worried about seeing blood and guts all over the screen. It's just one second we have a build up of The Joker with a blade in the guys mouth, giving his "why so serious" speech, and then a sharp noise, and BAM, Gambol falls over dead from what seems to be a cut from a knife. I think it was how sporadic the scene was, we see Jokers face, then it cues to Gambols thug, and then back to Gambol who is already dead from a knife cut. It was just like, "hey look at joker, no, look at Thug, no, look at Gambol".
The scene just made me wonder if he was actually dead or not. At first I didn't know if he was dead, but I just took it that he died, since The Joker left and let the other guys fend for themselves to join "his team". I mean, even B89, that also has a PG-13 rating, was clear enough to show you that Joker could shoot Bob The Goon from close range. The scene just didn't do anything for me I guess? It's like when your grandma pumps you up, and says shes got a great present for you, and it's rapped in a box with a huge bow, you tear it up, just to find a pair of socks. You're like, "ohhhhhh, socks. Cool?". It's just a huge let down.
