Bioshock Infinite

You just run through the door the first one and you hit the switch and ride the rails the last one right

For people interested, Irrational put up a couple alternate covers that are printable for PC, XBOX 360 and PS3. They have printing instructions and suggest a dry run before trying to print on glossy paper.

Pretty cool. I really wish this kind of thing were done more often.

Just finished the game...wow, I am speechless. That was, I mean that was probably one of the best game stories I've ever seen. The game has flaws, but it is rare a game sucks me in so much. Hats of to Irrational, if they intend to follow this up with a Bioshock 3 or yet another Bioshock universe, they have some big expectations to look up to now.

A new patch came out (1.02) for PS3...anyone know what's new? Anyone play it with the PS Move? How is it?

I'm currently in the [blackout]ShantyTown[/blackout]. Taking my time with the game, prolonging the experience like a crazy person. :oldrazz: I love that I have a hypothesis about what's going on but I'm kind of hoping it's wrong. Can't wait (but wait I will) to go back and read everyone's posts and listen to all the spoiler discussion podcasts and articles that are out there.

As with all entertainment, Levine knows that just because something looks cool on paper don't mean in theory it will.

Skip you say? :wow:

The first handyman fight if you jump on a roof, then he follows you and just stays there, the video is probably online. (It's a glitch so i don't know if a fix was part of the patch). The last fight before meeting comstock on his ship is completely avoidable, just hit the skyline and take it all the was to the back. The winter shield is good at the part because it gives you momentary invincibility when you jumpp off a skyline. That's also good to use during the final battle.

Another good combo is Bucking bronco/shotgun. When you are by outside by edges you hit the enemy with the vigor and the shotgun can be used to push the guys off columbia. Nice quick way to take care of the enemies but you do lose out on their loot.

Just played the game again and found out that
Booker isn't dead but drown to a point rather than baptised therefore he hasn't been a through a religous experience in order to become Comstock. This means Anne will not be sold to comstock and thus Elizabeth timeline get erazed. It still doesn't change the fact that Booker is still in huge debt and in depression caused by the war (which explains the end credits) but learns his lesson which is to never ever sell your own daughter no matter what state your in
.

The greatest FPS game I ever played and it reminds me of inception on how its trying to tell me to keep up with the story without forcing it.

Another cool little plot device you don't notice till you play it a second or third time
in chapter 3 or 2 don't remember. When comstock first talks to booker he tells him to "Go back to the sodom you came from" Instead of telling him to return to "the sodom below"

Nice catch.

Rented the game via red box and its been good so far. I'm a little confuse on the tears? Alternate universe or different time

They're an alternate universe mostly. It gets explained better and better as the game progresses

One of my favorite little references, which isn't ultra-smart or anything but near the end:

As you reach the top of Comstock's Zeppelin, he proclaims over the radio "Some things can't be forgiven. Time will reverse before you are washed of your sins." ... which is of course exactly what happens.

So I beat Bioshock after getting it on the big MS sale, enjoyed it quite a bit, looked at 2, didn't seem very good after watching some videos and reading about it. Infinite is getting almost nothing but positive reviews and from what I've heard is quite alot like the original but much better where 2 is said to be just a rehash of mediocrity. I won't be able to afford it for awhile but is it worth getting if I just played the first and don't really plan on getting the second?

If you really enjoyed the atmosphere and combat of the 1st one and wouldn't mind seeing more, go ahead. But it is (or can be, depending on you play it) a series of escort missions, and gets pretty tedious at times. Pretty decent story, though. Has some memorable moments.

I actually like the second Bioshock despite some problems, I think in some ways the narrative of 2 is better than 1 and it introduces the whole dual Plasmid/guns mechanic.

Have any of you guys watched the TheMediaCows Spoilercast on YouTube (keyword being "spoiler", so don't watch if you haven't beaten the game)?

They actually clarify a lot of the speculation about certain plot points/time travel/etc. and explain them in a way that makes sense and isn't confusing. It definitely helped me understand the entire game better.

It's definitely not reliant on the "twist" like the first one was, and feels more consistent quality-wise in that respect. Better sense of a climax and whatnot.

And it does have some really good moments, as well. 2 is still a fun game, it's just not radically different from 1 and I think that's what got a lot of people.

I agree, I actually prefer 2 to 1 just because of the more consistent story and the gameplay mechanics are better. Not that 1 is bad, far from it but I prefer 2 just slightly more than 1

I personallt prefer Bioshock 1 over 2. More memorable stages (Arcadia, Fort Frolic), plus I found Andrew Ryan to have much more of a presence than Sofia Lamb, I didnt find Bioshock 2 truly something great until the last part of the game, it felt too much like a recreation of the first game, especially the very beginning. I also wonder that since Bioshock 1 had a city underwater and Infinite had a city in the sky, would the next one have a city underground?
