Oh god. Do I even want to look on the previous page...?

Fake Edit: Looking...

Real Edit: It's not that bad. In fact, as is usually the case, I'm glad it got delayed. My wallet thanks you, Irrational Games.

Agreed.

I'm totally cool with it getting delayed. Being a visual artist, I know first hand how great the feeling of relief is when a deadline is pushed back, and how much more I can do to improve the project with the added time. So, good for them knowing that they need the extra time instead of rushing through it and delivering a game that doesn't meet it's potential.

They've been hearing whining and gripes about the game from message boards and media outlets since it was announced, and ongoing since. They may be choosing to tweak some stuff or whatever.

The character of Elizabeth, some of the gameplay mechanics. Not like blatant stuff, but just fanboy stuff.

When was this supposed to come out? Cuz waiting til Feb is a pretty big delay if the game was scheduled to come out soon.

The games industry really needs to clean that up though. Delays happen far too frequently. I dont think release dates should be announced until the game is complete.

But...GOTY 2012. :(

Hold it off for 2013 then, with the delay it's going to be 5 years into the making but if they need more time it's something I'm fine with.

Yeah I'm okay with waiting for now. I just hope they put out some more **** to tide us over.

WTF! Man, I've been highly anticipating this game since the 2010 teaser. So yeah, I'm a little perturbed that after waiting 2 years I'm gonna have to wait til next year now!

They've been advertising the **** out of their enemies and designs and essentially ****ing this game out through videos and articles, and now they say "Oh wait, that's not the game we want you to see or have." I'm all for polishing a game, but learn to make your deadlines with efficiency. This game better deliver.

Would you have preferred them ship you a game that in their eyes wasn't complete or not up to the potential that it could be?

With so many people complaining about day one DLCor updates you'd think people would be OK with the developers giving themselves a little extra developing time.

Which is what it's going to get. They're not delaying it to shoehorn multilayer in or tovtake something out so EB has a preordered insentive.

I'm happy they're doing this. At least my wallet is.

I've never complained about it out loud, but almost every time they show something new for the game they change her design and it always seems like it's for the worse.

Reread my post. I said I want the game to be polished and proper, but they need to learn to meet their deadlines. I understand things come up, and sometimes you can't account for those random events from the beginning. However, this sounds more like stylistic changes and a general unhappiness with what they have been doing with the game. Someone should have recognized that type of issue earlier and not after they had been throwing videos and promotions up willy nilly. This isn't the first time they have done this.

I want them to do this, and I'm behind it. I am not happy, however, that they seem to have problems with efficiently meeting a deadline.

The problem is that as games get bigger and bigger, their deadlines don't. Look at the last several AAA titles that have come out over the last year or two. They've either been delayed or if they weren't, the developers admit the games were rushed to meet the deadline. The problem isn't the artists not understanding the concept of a deadline; its the money pinchers not adapting their deadlines for games ever increasing in size and scope.
