Who says it would be a love triangle?
To be equally as hypothetical as your post, MJ could just up and leave Peter, unable to cope with everything she'd been put through, and move on with her life. Gwen probably wants nothing to do with him after that first impression either. Then of course, Cat shows up with a refreshingly uplifting effect on him after all the misery he's endured in his love life at the time. And she has an extra appeal because she's running around rooftops in a costume just like he is. Open opportunity for a singular love interest, temporary or not. Sounds just like the comics, right?
But didn't they forgive eachother at the end of the third film? It wouldn't make sense for her to leave him like that. "Hey, I just forgave you, after everything we've been through, so I'm just gonna leave you."
But the reason I don't want Black Cat in a film is that she paralles Catwoman too much. The relationship between Spidey/Cat Batman/Catwoman would be treated almost the same in film form.
Well I guess Black Cat will look something like this on screen?
They didn't speak a word, and it sure seemed like there was still a huge burden there, and a lot of tension. To me anyway. But then again, Kirsten comes across really b****y in her personality all the time, so maybe that was influencing how I took the ending.
Plus, even if they do forgive each other, that doesn't mean MJ can continue to cope with it. Maybe after a few weeks she realizes that things simply can't be the way they were before, the way she wanted them to be.
It happens.
Says who? It's more nuanced than that. They don't have to handle it the same way at all. That's a poor assumption to make, I'd even say shallow.
And also, we don't have a current Catwoman, just an old 90's version that most moviegoers probably don't even acknowledge anymore now that we have a new Batman franchise that wipes the old one away.
I don't think Spider-man movies should be based on what Batman has or hasn't done in the first place though. And if it's really about that to you, then what if Spidey does Black Cat in a movie before current gen Batman does Catwoman? Should the new Batman franchise not have a Catwoman?Seriously. Give me a break.

She is no black cat. She doesn't have that sensuality, not to mention she is too skinny.Jennifer Love Hewitt
I think the same. But then again, this is not on topic and many of you don't seem to realize it for some reason. I don't want her there either, but if they will put her in I hope they will choose the right person and not some screwed up actress like Lohan and I mentioned why down there:Black Cat = No
Lohan? Lohan is anything but an actress, but that's not the main point. The real point is that she is in no shape to play BC and she doesn't really have a hot body. I hope you were either drunk when you posted this or just sarcastic.Sarah Michelle Gellar
Estella Warren
Lindsay Lohan
Then again, it doesn't take too much talent to play such a character as Black Cat, let's face it. It only takes the looks because she is not an interesting and complex character.Well Cuthbert does look the part, not so sure about her acting though.
My pick would be Scarlett Johansson.
Check the date on the post, I suggested that like 10 months ago or so.Lohan? Lohan is anything but an actress, but that's not the main point. i think black cat could be good but only if raimi gets his act together.
my choice would be kristen bell, i spose she could play it like elle from heroes
just my opinion
I think Raimi could, considering the fact that he intended to use Black Cat in Spiderman 2.
Maybe his idea of using Black Car was just like in the game.
how was she used in the game?
The Black Cat is often mistaken as an homage to DC's Catwoman, however, Felicia Hardy's signature low cut black costume, cat burglar profession, and her steady relationship to Spider-Man predate Selina Kyle's similar depiction in comics by almost a decade. Catwoman originally appeared in comics as "the Cat", a maskless villain in a purple dress who used big cats for elaborate crimes; her modern incarnation as a black suited cat burglar with mutual romantic interest with Batman didn't occur until 1987 with Frank Miller's classic Batman: Year One.
IMO, Spidey has never had as an interesting dynamic with any other supporting female character as he has had with the Black Cat. The whole thing with her being hot for him because he's Spider-Man but not being in love with Peter himself was brilliant. If there's such a thing as comic book chemistry, they have it in spades. I fear they brought "jackpot" in Brand New Day to try the same kind of thing, but there should only be one vigilante gal in Spidey's life and it's BC.
I don't know who the actress is but......cool.....
Black Cat for SM4

The attraction of dressing up in costumes. I don't want to see those two same things played out. I think we should leave that to Batman and Catwoman. Plus, after TDK, Selina has to be in it. Those things have to be brought up.
I think Rachel McAdams should be a candidate for either Mary Jane or the Black Cat but mostly MJ. I would like Michelle Monahan as the Black Cat.
