Black Freighter, Love it or Leave it?

I don't think it is disrespectful to leave out an aspect of the story that has nothing to do with the telling of the main story.

I want Watchmen to be accurate - but enjoyable to the largest audience it can.

By adding this, people are going to leave saying "it was good, but what the hell was with that pirate story?".

Its great for fanboys - not for general audience.

while i do agree that the black freighter is not essential to a watchman film successfully telling the story it hardly has "nothing to do with telling the main story".

I dont give a damn about money grabbing or that it's animated or that it's not included in the cinema release. I'm just glad that one day I'll be able to buy a DVD with the Black Freighter/Watchmen story told how it's supposed to be.

How naive and precious do you have to be to whinge about money grabbing anyway? Silly babies.
