this does not include the digital copies i bought that weekend, nor the movies that some amazing members from br.com were able to help me track down.
this is by far the most i've ever ever ever spent on black friday shopping, but i got 2 raises this, year, saved a bunch of money, had a really crappy year, health has been horrible so i wanted to treat myself.

No Ragrets lol

lawd, i promise i am not doing this again this year lol

i've made a list, but it's much much smaller

and i wont be buying a PS4 this year, so that's 300 i'm not spending easy lol
i've got about $120 in AMZ gift cards, so i'm doing most of my shopping there if i can

if anyone is planning on doing some online shopping, then need to use ebates. i just got $30 from them sent to my paypal, so i have that to spend as well.
if anyone needs a referral, here's one of mine. you'll get a $10 once you spend $25 online. Sign up HERE

Does anyone know when Best Buy Black Friday deals start online? Looking to get a PS4 and that's the best offer.

Don't mind if I do. :o

Black Friday is evil. Mass consumerism at its finest. It's quite sad to see people hurt each other like they do for "discounted" items.

Black Friday isnt eveil. The people who use it as an excuse to hurt others is evil. Don't be immature

Cars must be evil too I guess since they kill people.

Wow, you guys got really defensive over Black Friday. That's so weird.

I find the whole reason for the day to be quite sad.

Exactly. Black Friday is great, the discounts let those who are middle class and lower have a greater chance at getting things they otherwise wouldn't be able to. It helps parents of all class standings give their kids a happy Christmas. It's a good thing. These are discounts stores can't have year round, financially I highly doubt they'd be able to outside of select sales.

Plus, it's increasingly going online away from the scary brawls of a few.

Ah so buying **** is the answer for a happy Christmas? Maybe the holidays should be about more than buying overpriced (even with the supposed discount) stuff for kids.

So you're not anti black friday violence, you're anti consumerism.

To me Black Friday is the one day that lets those with not a lot of money get what typically only the rich can. And yes a big part of that is for families of lower incomes being able to provide great Christmas memories for their kids that Santa was there and cared about them too.

No one is putting a gun to your head and telling you to buy things.

Again blame the people not the day. If you dont wanna buy anything, don't buy it simple. I don't get why you're so mad

I'm not mad.

The day is a reflection of society. And that's sad. I already said that. I am blaming people.

Is that really it? Are your favourite childhood memories of the holidays the ones where you got a bunch of stuff? Or was it more about family?

Family. But let's get one thing on the record. Are you lower middle class or lower class or do you come from a family that's financially stable or well off?

Middle class. But it doesn't make a difference. At least it shouldn't.

The thing that bothers me is that people feel like they need the stuff. It's like you can't be happy or teach your kid that they can't be happy unless they have what the rich have. It's the same kind of thing that pushes guys to buy diamond engagement rings. We're already riddled with debt. Getting an Xbox for $50 off won't make it better.

Plus having a huge discount day the day after Thanksgiving is ironic.

Yeah it does make a difference because you're someone financially stable. Your family was always able to provide for you. Others aren't that well off and rely on Black Friday because it's the one time of the year they can be like everyone else. It's hypocritical to denounce something that benefits those in lower class while YOU are living safe, comfy, and cozy. Plus it says a lot that those who are anti black friday are those who are mostly middle class or higher, that alone speaks volumes. Those against it are those who don't need it.

Oh I didn't realize that you knew my financial situation. My parents are immigrants and came to Canada with a couple thousand to their name and 2 kids. So tell me again how I don't know how "the other side" lives.

Also, the middle class is the most bogged down with debt. So maybe buying unnecessary stuff isn't the answer.

I find it funny that you think Black Friday benefits the lower class. It's not like advertising and the collective societal conscious tells you that you and your kids need this stuff to be happy. Black Friday takes advantage of that consumerism mindset. You're not good enough unless you have this stuff.

I'm done with this though. I don't want to debate with someone that makes assumptions like you.

Then put your money where your mouth is. Rather than buying things over Christmas give all of that to homeless shelters and those who are worse off. Spend your time criticizing to actually giving back where it counts. Unless you do that. Most anti consumerism thinkers I know only talk the talk but don't walk it.

How do you know that I don't??

Damn dude, stop assuming. You don't know anything about me.
