The Dark Knight Black Mask or Zsasz in TDK ?

The only way I see Sionis and his factory used successfully if it is applied to the plot outline theory we got a while back, where Falcone double crosses the pre-joker Joker and disposes his "dead" body in chemicals(*sigh* I'm still hoping some of that story was true). Then I can see it working, with Sionis being an associate of Falcone's, letting Falcone use his company as a front while the gangster pays off Roman's considerable debt. With Falcone gone, I could see him finally asking Bruce to bail him out. From there it could go either way, with Bruce bailing him out or not("not" being the quicker way to crime).

Either way, he becomes target for The Joker's revenge.

That makes Bruce partly involved with Sionis crime, bringing down Falcone and refusing to bail him out. Awesome.

It becomes a double edged blade for Bruce whatever they decide. If he denies Sionis, Black Mask will emerge to take revenge on him for not bailing him out. If he supports Sionis, he inadvertantly becomes a target for The Joker, who will link him to Sionis and Falcone as a contributor to his "death".

Either way, Bruce is kinda screwed.

i think Karl Urban would be an awesome choice, especially if Black Mask was a limited role in terms of dialogue (i dk too much about Black Mask so gimme a break here). go and rent Bourne Supremacy and you'll see what i mean

Dude, I LOVE this idea. That really makes the plot more interesting IMO, to bring Batman AND Bruce into the fold. Batman would be concerned with taking out The Joker whilst trying to defend himself as Bruce from Sionis/The Black Mask. Of course with this storyline you'd have The Joker going after Sionis at the same time. Its like a triangle of hate. :D

I think the addition of Sinois/Black Mask would be great however there is no indication that the character will be added or that there is even room for him.

Both Jett and LR have reported on this, hes been rumored since '05..I would say there is a damn good chance of him being in.

No indication at all? Don't you remember the rumored plot we got back in the fall of '05?

Man, I have nothing to really add to this convo, but how weird is it that we may be getting a Batman movie with the Black Mask in it!

Some of the ideas you guys have are pretty sweet and may be on the money.

Audiences are gonna be like WHO THE HELL IS THIS GUY?

O and do you think they are gonna go the way of "he's rich from cosmetics" ? It seems too catwoman with sharon stone to me.....

I wouldn't say a lot of that has really panned out though - unless Sionis is the European Arms dealer.

But yeah, more of that has come to fruitation than I expected. Jett deserves some props for that, at least. :)

Yeah, like anyone actually remembers the plot of Catwoman.

That movie bombed... which means no one saw it. And anyone who did see it sure as hell doesn't remember it.

umm all this specualtion about black mask's cosmetic company and all...but didn't jett say that black mask is the european arms dealer?

All this is too complicated for a 2hour plus movie i want joker, dent and one more lesser criminal not black mask and his cronies, killer croc, catwoman etc mask is a crap character anyway the only difference between him and any other mob boss his his stupid mask.

I do, but that was a rumor back then and there hasn't been any further news about it. But I loved the premise of the original rumor and hope that it happens, sounds a little crowded though but Nolan is a seasoned director so he'll make it work I'm sure.

The cosmetics heir thing seems a bit silly to me is all:woot:

Hmm...I wonder what Mary Kay Cosmetics annual revenue is.

Killyouguy suggested Michael Imperioli in other thread. He'd be an awesome Sionis but really I don't care what role he plays, the guy just needs to be in a Batman film yeah?

two sionis threads HR

This chap looks about right. I think that Sionis needs to have an imposing voice, since he speaks either from behind a mask or from a scorched face, and I believe that the actor should be chosen with that in mind.

What about Black Mask's nationality?
Now I dont want to get in any racial arguments, but as far as I know the name Sionis is of Easter European heritage, possibly could come from the Lithuanian name Sionas, or more common Szionas. So do you think the Easter European Heavy gy could be Black Mask?
And how exactly do you want to see him? I mean, is he supposed to be like 10th generation, living in America, pure American you might say, or rather someoen still very close to his motherland, and his roots, in gestures, accent, and the whatnot. Come on, what do you think?

I have a feeling the Lithuanian heavy is an ENFORCER of Sionis. Sionis is a big ol' role, if that old synopsis is accurate. Dent and Rachel weren't on the list of characters yet to be cast. That list, in my estimation, is for the smaller supporting roles - Enforcer, Accountant, Cop. These roles aren't gonna be as big as Black Mask's part could be.

Now, the original synopsis we got said Sionis was a contemporary of Bruce, a 'dark mirror.' If that's the case, we'd need someone around Bale's age who could play a rich heir.

Peter Sarsgaard. He rocks, plus he's engaged to Maggie Gyllenhaal. So, that might be incentive to join the fold.

That's an interesting possibility - the roles LR mentioned aounded more 'minor-ish' and Roman isn't minor, if what we've heard can be believed.

If Roman is around Bale's age, I'd say cast Wentworth or Peter.

Now THAT's an inspired choice. He could carry that role perfectly. Good spot.

Rufus is hardcore underrated.

and from the looks of it, he removed his lazy eye. I swear, I was looking for it in the Illustinist, but it was gone.

Rufus would be great as would sarsgaard.

You guys think they would change black Mask's back story for the film? Would they Mention his big money from cosmetics?

I mean they really don't mention how the waynes orignally got their wealth in batman begins do they?(i know his father was a doctor but how did his father and generations before him make money to afford that huge mansion...)

They probably wouldn't even have to mention how Roman came about his fortune.(i think i'm having a hard time witht the cosmetics heir thing, it seems really silly---i know cosmetics is a big multi billion dollar business )

I always thoght the Cosmetic Plant could easily be the birthplace for The Joker. It would just click so well with me, so Roman without the cosmetics empire seems kinda... well I am sure it could work, but would it be interesting?

I think having Roman's family tied to the Waynes would also work, like a member of the board of wayne enterprises, or an old business partner of thomas waynes would be cool(or the business partners son....)

Maybe it turns out Roman's father, or even Roman himself was at Bruce's party? Would be a nice surprise. But then again, how much of Roman's past can we really get to know? I mean, this movie already has to explore a darker Batman, the new career of Gordon, the new DA, the faith of Rachel, The Joker... is there really more room for Roman's backstory?
