Black Panther: Wakanda Forever General Discussion and Speculation Thread

Not sure if we knew the title of the next, but according to the following "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever"

After seeing that, I wonder if they're making Michael B Jordan the next Black Panther... just because of that scene they used.

It’s a good theory; that scene was an interesting one to choose. I could see it happening.

The title makes me think they are taking focus off or Black Panther after Chadwick’s passing and making truly a more ensemble piece.

Yeah it sounds that way. I’m guessing that the story will revolve around T’Challa’s passing as well. Maybe not, but the title makes me think that the character will be dead. That’s a mistake, IMO, but I trust Marvel.

I thought they used that scene because it’s the most dramatic moment from Black Panther, but I do not oppose that theory.

Yeah, that’s definitely possible too. I don’t know. God, this is so hard to ponder as a fan. I trust Marvel and whatever they decide to do, I’m sure it will turn out to be a good movie. But I feel like it’s still going to hurt.

That would be one hell of a redemption arc for Killmonger if they bring him back as the Black Panther. Just as long as he doesn't completely lose his edge, let him fall under that 'good does not mean nice' trope, have him defend Wakanda and take up the mantle.

He's still royalty after all.

My guess is the next BP will be Okoye - great warrior, Avenger during The Blip, and portrayed by a talented and popular actress in Danai Gurira. Eventually T'Challa's son with Nakia - I am thinking we will find out she is with child in Wakanda Forever - will inherit the mantle.

We saw him fall in the last flick. But it is possible that T'Challa stuck him in Bucky's old freezing chamber and had Shuri fix him up.

The new title is fine. I think I thought about wakanda Forever as a title before. It is such a catchy phrase.

Michael B. Jordan is probably the biggest poc actor right now. They sure want to bind him in the MCU and don’t loose him to Warner or other big companies.
They’ll find a way to make him the face of that franchise. Multiverse of Madness is the perfect way to explain how another N’Jadaka could cross universes and stay in 616

The spin-off series, is where Okoje, Ayo and other could shine

I don’t think they’ll involve multiverse stuff in this. Maybe, but I think that if they do bring back Killmonger, it will be the version we saw in the first movie.

It's the Marvel Cinematic Fake Death Universe as John Campea would say.

I know he "died," but they can always come up with some excuse to bring him back somehow.

Maybe they can say that he actually killed T'Challa at the end of BP1 and took his costume and also his face using one of those masks Black Widow had at the end of Winter Soldier. So for Infinity War and Endgame it's been Kilmonger all along.

Killmonger isn't going to be the new Black Panther. Come on.

And as others pointed out, it sounds like this will focus on Wakanda as a whole and not T'Challa. Whether that means he died, or it takes place during the 5 years of the blip, who knows.

Well, both parts of the title tell us a thing each.
First, there will be a Black Panther. If there wasn't, the movie would only be called "Wakanda Forever". Marvel wouldn't be scared of people not knowing it's a sequel. For example, we're not getting "Captain Marvel: The Marvels". We're getting "The Marvels" and people will know it's a sequel to Captain Marvel.
Second, it will indeed focus more on Wakanda and its culture. We went various places in the first movie, maybe this one will keep the story just at home.

Just have to be honest. Love the title, not a big fan of the logo.

If they did reveal T'Challa as Kilmonger that could be the MCU's Thunderbolts- type twist.

wakanda mourning tchalla's death. enemy tries to attack bc they are vulnerable and a new leader will emerge during that battle to take over the throne.

Eh I don't think I would like that... it would still make him a bad guy, even if he did help in those other events

I wouldn't be surprised if they now call the Disney + TV show "Wakanda Begins".
