Forgive me if I take this with *heavy* skepticism. And the storyline has me actually not believing it one bit, because it doesn't really match up with the script for CASINO ROYALE.

Furthermore, the "Risico means rice in Japan" excuse also doesn't wash, seeing as foreign releases of Bond films are generally given entirely different titles anyhow.

'Death to Spies' could be a good title if used. I would rather it be the term used in The Living Daylights (I'm not even gonna try and spell it), the one the assasin wrote and slid down to the 00 agent he killed in the beginning.

I mean, when exactly did this myth come into being that every Bond film should have a "punny" title like DIE YOUR LIFE AWAY ?


If even the next Batman movie isn't gonna be called BATMAN DOES SOMETHING, but The Dark Knight, I think they could find a good Bond title that isn't a lame spin on the words live or die

'Risico' is a title that has been thrown around alot

Risico is the title I was initially rooting for.

I wasn't a fan of the title The Property of a Lady, until I started thinking that the follow-up to Casino Royale and the Vesper story would be a perfect chance to use it. TPoaL as the title might still be an issue for teenage males when it comes time to buy their tickets, though, as it does sound very chick flick.

Also with the film being a CR follow-up in mind, I like the thought of using part of a Casino Royale chapter title, A Whisper of Hate.

The plot for Bond 22 takes a great deal from the short story Risico, where Bond is working with a man who could be a double agent to bust a drug smuggling ring in Greece (you might remember parts of this from the movie For Your Eyes Only).

BIG SPOILERS*BIG SPOILERS

It is surmised that the double agent will be the unseen boyfriend of Vesper Lynd mentioned in Casino Royale. As Bond tries to get to the bottom of this terrorist ring, he, having been supposedly kidnapped, would have the best information. Mr White is just a cog in a chain, while the boyfriend, rumored to be played by Gael Garcia Bernal (still in negotiation) would be the leader of a terrorist cell planning on staging suicide bombings in Europe, including England.

END SPOILERS* END SPOILERS

The title may wind up being Risico, but that and Death to Spies, while fitting the story, don't really suit the Bond lore. Risico being the more exotic sounding, and closer to this tradition. Just like a working title of Die Another Day was Beyond the Ice, then Beneath the Ice, expect more title rumors to come about before a final one is announced sometime in 2007.

I'm just throwing this out there but i always liked the sound of the line Sean Bean (004 from Goldeneye) uttered to Bond "Her Majestys Loyal Terrier'. How would that work as a title?

Also the fact that Risico doesn't even mean rice in Japanese. In fact, you can't even write that word in Japanese.
