Well now the Romanian villagers apparently felt that they were tricked by Borat (Or Sasha Cohen) the whole case is here in this Daily Mail Article but here's a few excerpts:

You know if this article is factually accurate I feel genuinely sorry for these people, and I agree that they've been abused. I mean I don't feel any sympathy whatsoever for those idiot fratboys (then again who ever feels sympathy for fratboys) but this is... gives me a bad taste in the mouth for having laughed at those scenes from the village...
I just kind of assumed that they were playing along, and that they got paid properly for what they did...
Then again I can't be sure what the truth is, but still...
