So good you said it twice!

You should go to a con and make a shirt saying "Im 1 of 5 Bendis internet Bashers!" And get something signed by him.

By the way, put me in with The Lone Ranger love, thats a damn good comic.

and then I'll make a up a tshirt that says "Civil War??? Im with the Bendis Bashers"

I just trademarked all these shirts.

EDIT: Even better "I bashed Bendis and all I got was this lousy shirt"

And then I could make one that said, "I cloned an extra-dimensional Diety, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!"

EDIT: beat me by seconds, daggum!

HIYO!!!! If I wasnt lazy/poor id make these shirts.

You know the best part about that book for me: I have no idea why I picked it up. I'm not a big Western or LR fan. I don't usually pick up non-Marvel ongoings outside of trades. There really was no reason for me to pick that up. But I did, and lucked out!

I picked it up because I wanted my dad to see it, he was a huge Lone Ranger fan when he was a kid, but I fell in love with it.

How about "The government passed a hastily drawn up law that requires all superheroes to register and i joined Cap's side and then got dragged by a cloned Norse Thunder God and all I got was this shirt".

You know what the difference is Tropico? Batman and SUperman are in like 10 titles every month, while the Nextwave characters only appear in that one book. Next time, lets use some of those critical thinking skillz.:whatever:

It's still writing trying to get some laughs by being parodical. To you it's different because you hate Nextwave, to me it's the same thing. But, I'm used to hypocrisy, blind hatred, writer profiling and refusing to try things because of "pride" so I expected to have this replied to. I'd be more surprised if Dread and Corp DON'T say something like what you said.

WILDCATS #1

THOUGHT:
52 #25 - Digging all the twists and turns and how things are starting to interconnect.

ACTION COMICS #844 - So far I'm not to thrilled with the new guys. As it's just the first part of the story, I'll see how it goes. But if this one wraps up poorly I'm gonna drop Action. Also, what is up with Kubert? He's really let himself go since my last run of his on X-Men.

ALL NEW OFFICIAL HANDBOOK #10 - I love handbooks. Nuff said!

CAPTAIN AMERICA #23 - Nick Fury and the Winter Soldier! A break from the war shows us what these two are up to behind the scenes. Thinking maybe Fury might turn the tides on the whole war. We'll hafta see. Digging Bru's run so far.

DAREDEVIL #90 - And more Bru goodness as we got DD vs. Tombstone! And more twists in the story as only Bru can do it. Yeah, so not missing Bendis on the title.

EXILES #87 - Silver Surfer is BAD ASS! And Galactus is a good guy! I think the coolest part of this series is how they twist each character into new versions of themselves. The stories don't hurt none either.

HEROES FOR HIRE #3 - Speaking of twists, big one here. Not to mention the return of a recent foe! Series is not bad so far. Hopefully it'll have some steam outside the Civil War banner.

NEW AVENGERS #24 - A boring story about the Sentry reflecting on the war and a useless appearance by the Inhumans. Yeah, I could care less about Sentry. Coulda been a good character, but all he is is the angsty version of Superman. Yeah, I'll pass.

NEW EXCALIBUR #12 - Not sure how I felt about this arc. On the one hand, it was entertaining. On the other, did come off kind of week on execution. Although I wasn't expecting that revelation at the end.

PTOLUS CITY BY THE SPIRE #1 - Red Sonja with more clothes! Sort of. Another Dabbel Bro venture here, but hard to judge on this one part alone. So gonna give it a few issues before I make up my mind about it. Artwork was good and the story was interesting so far.

SECRET SIX #5 - Another good issue. Betrayals, revelations, and confrontations gallore! Said it before, I'll say it again; if they made a series with this same crew I'd buy it.

SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN #31 - Aunt May kicks ass! Chameleon never knew what hit him! I was wary on this title before, but it's definitely earning points with each additional issue. Good stuff.

SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE #11 - Excellent as always. Read this book, this guy gets it on every level.

STAN LEE MEETS THING - Thing seemed a little out of character in this tale, but I loved how it tied in to the reprint in the book somewhat. And, as always, the bonus tales were great. Worth every penny.

SUPERGIRL AND THE LEGION #23 - A good story and a sensible result for Supergirl, and more crap buildong on the horizon.

SUPERMAN BATMAN ANNUAL #1 - Uber silly and uber confusing all at the same time. While I had NO CLUE what the hell was going on half the time, I did enjoy some of the gags peppered throughout the book.

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #101 - This whole issue was dedicated to the fight outside the Parkers, meaning the story moved about an inch forward once again. More questions are raised and few answers are given. As it stands, I say the original Clone Saga still reigns. This is just a pale imitation.

WILDCATS #1 - Another Wildstorm book I feel like I should've read from the first issue of the first volume. I'll give it a couple issues since I heard so much about them, but don't think I'm gonna be sticking with this one.

And again, its parody, but its not the only place to read those characters. Theres 20 other books SUperman and Batman show up in if you dont like parody (which I wouldnt say S/B is really). If I want to read about Meltdown and Elsa Bloodstone, guess what, they dont show up in 10 books, they hardly show up in one book. Theres a clear defining difference, but since you love Nextwave, and im also used to hipocrisy and bias from the likes of you.

**** you Bendis.:cmad: :cmad:

Omega Men 1: Forgot I never wrote the review. The story itself isn't too bad, we get some of the same OYL stuff we're used to from the other titles (mainly stuff that happened in the missing year that has us going WTF?!) but probably worse. Most of the characters have gone through some drastic changes, Doc is...alive (I thought he died in the Adam Strange mini) and there are more of the Omega Men than what we've seen recently. I kinda liked the changes they made to Vril Dox, though. Unfortunately, the art sucked so much that I don't think I'll keep buying the comic. Maybe they wanted to go for a 2000 AD feel, but it drove me away.

X-Men 192: I'm surprised to say that this story has gotten very interesting. It kinda felt like Rogue had made another X-Treme X-Men team, but I'm glad to see that Sam isn't being played as the ineffective hayseed some writers see him as. My only regret is that this is the penultimate part and we only have the conclusion, I would have preferred if there was an additional "chapter" since I'm already dreading a Deus Ex Machina finale.

First, I never said that S/B as a whole was parodical, just this annual. The writing in this Annual had the same feel as Nextwave does, it had the same out of character/character re-building moments, it had parodical characters, etc. Sure, Nextwave is practically the only comic you can see these characters in; but that was never my argument. It was about the Annual and how it was written.

Telling me I'm biased and can be hypocritical isn't news to me; I'm not arrogant enough to think I'm perfect or above those flaws. I make fun of the people that don't like Nextwave in jest, just to see your predictable reactions. My previous comment wasn't directed at you, but if you took it personally then there must be something there.;)

I agree. I've been calling her a sasquatch too. And as I said before, THAT is what a shark looks like when you jump it.

Ill be sure to look out for that on future episodes of Lost. :o

Is it just me or does basically every single USM arc start with people going "okay the last arc sucked, but this one is gonna be AWESOME!" and ends with everyone going "oh wait no, it still sucks"?
I haven't done that. Here's basically my own summary of my enjoyment of USM.

I enjoyed it overall, enjoying every arc overall even though very quickly on I saw how repetitive Bendis was and how he kept repeating the same flaws in every arc because he didn't believe they were flaws, but "formula". The thing I hated most was either USM's ineptitude, and the fact that Kingpin was (then) a doofus. And then CARNAGE happened, which was just a muddled waste of a story as well as a supporting character. That story proved RIGHT all the old school fanboys who came up with the "Gwen Stacy Syndrome" stuff after she died in the 70's. And then JUMP THE SHARK was just two issues where Bendis all but dared us to buy the worst two issues he could think of. The rest of SUPERSTARS just felt like stories left out of Ult. MTU. Then HOBGOBLIN I liked, and WARRIORS I liked, and both annuals I liked. SILVER SABLE was kinda "meh" with yet ANOTHER costumed woman who is unbeatable, yet another defeat and unmasking...y'see, repetitive. DEADPOOL was fun for an actioner but sort of stumbled at the finish, and MORBUIS was enjoyable if not random filler. I was initially interested at the start of CLONE SAGA, but by #101 (part 5), it's lost me and spiralled downward into conveluted stupid dross a LOT faster than the last Clone Saga did. It just seems like a parade of shocks, retcons, and conveluted gobbledegook that is trying to pass for a story but is just an exercise in "shattering the status quo", even though it was that quo that allows USM to focus on the "roots" of the character that 616 has all but abandoned. And, well, after 100 issues and Peter is still a whiney, helpless crybaby who needs to be saved from all of his major archenemies by someone else and who gets unmasked, or fights in civvies, or whatnot...Sailor Moon is more competant at this point. And I'm dead serious, too.

As for Nextwave, I said my piece before, and don't feel like kicking a book when it's down. I didn't like it when one of the few people who didn't like MTU did that as it staggered to cancellation so I won't follow suit.

boreds drunk review late at night!

Sliver Surfer Annihilation 4 of 4: SS is herald of Glactus again, he kicks Ravenous's ass, and Thanos recruits those two really old beings. Whole otta assk icking.

Exiles 87: Sliver Surfer of anothe4r dimension (duh) is evil, but Galactus is good, so Exlis gotta save him. Cool issue.

New X-Men 31: they beat Nimrod and X-23 almost diews but not. Best comic ever.

I'm gonna be real humiliated when i see all this tomrrow, and I'm gonna redo it to sound not stupid and runk but i don't care right now. "New X-men" still best comic ever, except maybe "Planet Hulk" but i'll expr3ess myself better later.

Dont hate me because im fabulous.

I'm so mad. My shop got shorted, thats cool I understand. Then they finally get their books yesterday, all of them are there, EXCEPT Nextwave!

*Colbert voice* NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Yeah anyway, Batman/Superman Annual was awesome. Even the "lol this whole book was for nothing" ending. I loved it.:O

Okay, sober-time!

Annihilation: Silver Surfer #4 of 4: Very action packed issue, as the Surfer demolishes the Annihilation Wave pretty quickly, then has a knock-down, drag-out fight with Ravenous, eventually winning, and ordering him to return to the Negative Zone. It opens up some interesting new directions for the Surfer to go, since he's stuck as the Herald of Galactus again, though that could easily be changed once the Annihilation story ends. Also, Thanos finds Aegis and Tenebrous, and they agree to hunt down Galactus together. Good action, and a good read. 7/10

Exiles #87: Well, my LCS didn't seem to have no. 86, so I missed how the all-Wolverine team story ended (a shame, because no. 85 was alot of fun). The actual Exiles are back, and this time they're in space. Earth was destroyed, and they have to protect a giant space-creature from an evil Silver Surfer, who battles the Shi'ar Superguardians, and ends up killing Gladiator (straight-up owns the guy, really). The thing they have to protect possesses Blink, and uses her powers to transport them all far away. Longshot discovers that this thing is this universe's version of Galactus. Seems that here, a 'cosmic blight' is destroying worlds, and only the benevolent Galactus has the power to save them. He hired Norrin Radd to find planets fast enough for him to save them, but the Surfer turned on him when he wouldn't restore Zenn-La, which was destroyed not by the blight, but some unspecified weapon that Radd himself had made. The Shi'ar find the Exiles, and offer to let them join their army while battling the Surfer. It's a cool twist on the old Galactus/Surfer story, even though it was plain as day that the thing was Big G before Longshot revealed it. 8/10

New X-Men #31: Don't as me why, but I've been resisting this title for a while. Well, I finally decided to give it a shot, and damn have I been missing out. In one issue, at the end of an arc, I've already developed a liking for the characters. In this issue, the team is defending Forge, who has a concussion, from Nimrod. In a nutshell, Forge deduces that if they can get to the temporal device inside Nimrod and overload it, they can force him out of this timeline, and basically defeat him, so with a little of that good ol' fashioned thing we call 'team-work', Talon cuts him open while Dust distracts him, Mercury keeps him from healing, and Surge fries his circuits, then gets saved by Hellion. There's a great bit of tension when Hellion is racing to get Talon to Elixir to heal her from her near-fatal injuries sustained cutting Nimrod open, including having to blow a hole through a Sentinel. It's well-written, the action is good, and I'm eager to read this on a regular basis. 10/10

52 Week Twenty-Five (of 52) (DC Comics): Even though 52 continues to be going strong, it feels like nothing really happened in this issue. In this special Halloween edition of 52, Manheim and Intergang are attempting to take over Gotham City, now that there's a power vaccum created by Black Mask's death and are planning to attack Kahndaq. The Black Marvel Family continue to act as heroes throughout the world instead of Black Adam killing the bad guys. Ralph Dibny continues his journey with the Helemt of Fate. Infinity Inc. replaces Trajectory with Matrix. Doc Magnus refuses to work with Intergang. And the United Nations are starting to reform Checkmate against the growing metahuman threat. Nothing too significant, but a good read, but it feels like 52 is starting to slow down a bit before it picks up again. 3/5

Action Comics #844 (DC Comics): A new arc starts in Action Comics and I can't help but notice some things.
1. Why does Clark Kent look like Brandon Routh?
2. Jor-El is an old man once again.
3. The Fortress of Solitude looks like the Fortress of Solitude from the Superman movies.
Maybe this is because Richard Donner of Superman the Movie and Superman II fame and his former assistant now hot superstar comic book writer Geoff Johns are writing this new arc, creating a new chapter in Superman's life, and I have to say it's a rather good start. I'm noticing a lot of people giving flack to the heavy emphasis of Superman looking like a human yet not being one, but it fits here in Action Comics. The main Superman title deals with the humanity side of Superman/Clark Kent, Action Comics focuses on the Kryptonian side of Superman/Kal-El. I think that Lois and Clark adopting a Kryptonian child in a similar fashion that Martha and Johnathan Kent did is a great idea, and much better than having Lois birth a freak baby of an interspecies relationship between an Earthican and a Kryptonain. If Lois could carry Superman's child, it would just punch right through her uterus, and the child would most likely be sterile. A great start to a new arc, and I'm looking foward to next issue. 4/5

Captain America #23 (Marvel Comics): My only problem with this Civil War tie-in is that it should have started sooner with the other majorly important Civil War tie-ins like Amazing Spider-Man, Civil War: Frontline, Fantastic Four, and Wolverine. This issue focuses on former Bucky, now the Winter Soldier and the often mentioned, but never seen Nick Fury and the role they are playing in Civil War. Brubaker's writing on this title continues to be strong, despite Nick Fury's overuseage of "kid." Now we see how the villains are taking advantage of the superhuman/hero crisis in the United States, no I'm not talking about the no-namers like the Puppet Master and the Thinker, I'm talking about the awesome big timers, Red Skull and Dr. Doom! I wonder what they are up to. 5/5

Civl War: Choosing Sides: My main problem with this book is that it feels more like a preview book like DC's Brave New World, except it costs a lot more money.
"Thunderbolts: Switching Sides" by Marc Guggenheim, this preview was good, but I still don't like Marc Gargan being Venom nor do I like the bastardization of the concept of the Thunderbolts by turning it into a Suicide Squad rip off.
"The Irredeemable Ant-Man in Conscientious Objector" by Robert Kirkman, another good preveiw.
"The Immortal Iron Fist: Choosing Sides" by Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction. Woo-hoo! More Brubakery goodness, I can't wait for this title to come out.
"Omega Flight: U.S.Agent in Choosing Sides" by Mike Oeming, at first I thought that Omega Flight was going to be a book that compared the heroes to Vietnam War draft dodgers. I guess I was wrong. Good preview, but still not gonna get it.
"Howard the Duck in Non-Human-Americans" by Ty Templeton. Finally the only part of this book that is a story and not a preview. Good laughs especially with the Mighty Bull and the American government's refusal to acknowledge Howard's existance.
"Guiding Light: A New Light" by Jim McCain. Whoever came up with this idea needs to be shot. This preview was lame as hell. So it looks like the TV show/soap opera Guiding Light is now a part of the Marvel Universe. F**KING LAME! This is going to go down like NFL Superpro.
Normally I would give this book a 3/5, but since the Guiding Light preview was stupid as hell I'm giving this a 2/5

Daredevil (The Man Without Fear) #90 (Marvel Comics): This has got to be the best week ever. Not only did I get one book by Brubaker, but two Brubaker books and a Brubaker preview! Awesomeage! Hawtness! Kick Assery! Daredevil goes to Paris where he kicks ass and gets his ass kicked in the process looking for Lily, who doesn't seem like whom she appears. While the concept is so simple, Brubaker just makes this all so good, no scratch that, he makes it all so great! His run on Daredevil will go down like Miller's and Bendis' runs. By the way, am I starting to sound like a Brubaker fanboy of Leaguer-esque proportions (the one with a man-crush on Grant Morrison) 5/5

Ion (Guardian of the Universe) #7 (of 12) (DC Comics): No Marissa, don't touch Kyle's penis, you'll get killed! Why isn't this an ongoing, I have no idea. The next chapter beings in the Ion miniseries and like 52, it appears that it is slowing down to quickly pick up again. We get great character interactions between Kyle Rayner and other characters such as Alan Scott, Radu, and Schuyler. The ending was pretty funny too. And what is up with the Monitor? 4/5

New Avengers #24 (Marvel Comics): Civil War has really helped this piece of crap title out, just like it helped to rid the staleness of the Amazing Spider-Man. This issue of "New Avengers: Disassembled" focuses on the Sentry and it's just not as good as the issues that focused on Captain America, Power Man/Luke Cage, and Spider-Woman. Nothing really happens in this issue except for talking. It was nice to see that Marvel is now attempting to devillanize Iron Man and Black Bolt and the Inhumans are pretty cool characters. Though if the Inhumans are at war with the United States, why aren't they attacking? Maybe, Black Bolt is up to something with Namor and Atlantis? 3/5

Secret Six #5 (of 6) (DC Comics): This issue just wasn't as good as the other issues in this miniseries. Knockout seemed a little too naive and Deadshot came off as too much of a dick. And why does everyone apparently want Catman's DNA for children? The art was bad in the first place and getting even worse. For declining quality I give this a 2/5.

Seven Soldiers of Victory #1 (DC Comics): What the f**k? This issue was just all over the place. I am seriously confused as hell! The Seven Soldiers of Victory maxiseries was great, but this issue just seemed a little too Morrisony (Morrison was probally on some really good s**t when he wrote this). The end of Seven Soldiers of Victory just felt like a really big let down, and I really don't know what the f**k happened. For the severe let down, the massive delay, and my massive headache from this issue, I give this a 2/5.

The Trials of Shazam #3 (of 12) (DC Comics): Freddy Freeman's journey to become the Champion of Marvel. Judd Winick makes this story feel like an epic set in the modern age, and if it continues this way, I can definetly get used to Freddy being the new Captain Marvel. Though I'm somewhat expecting Winick to write Freddy or Mary down as a gay person or have AIDS or both 5/5

Pick of the Week
Superman/Batman Annual #1 (DC Comics): I can't even remember when an issue of Superman/Batman was this enjoyable. With Deathstroke's Deadpool knockoff (payback for the original characterization of Deadpool being a Deathstroke knockoff maybe) doppleganger. Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne not getting along at all. Owlman, Ultraman, and Superwoman! The epic battle that took place but we couldn't see because we mere humans can't even grasp the awesomeness of it. Bizarro Loeb. And much more! All of this just had me cracking up and having a lot of fun reading this book. 5/5
