Astonsihing X-men 24-was freakin awesome. felt a bit cheap knowing thier not finish with the run yet. thank god, i wasn't looking forward to ellis's run.

ok so i bought ulitmates 3 #2 and all i have to say is. it seriously makes me want to stop reading comics for ever. for ****ing ever. it was pure ****ing crap. ****. it has single handly made me hate jeph loeb forever. it is a piece of ****. the worst comic ever. so bad i had to drink right after i read it at 3 in the afternoon. and im still not drunk enough to wash out that tastless crap out of my mouth. need more champagne of beers.

Lobster Johnson The Iron Prometheus#1-5

Finally finished this after about a month or so.Jason Armstrong and Dave Stewart make one hell of a combo.His Kirby/Cooke hybrid style is gorgeous and totally in line with this type of 1930s pulp/noir/adventure.For the story itself,I totally soaked it all in.All the cool "secret history" elements involving the Emperor of the World,yetis,Atlantis,etc are the type of **** I enjoy.I hope we get more Lobster Johnson minis in the future.This insane period piece is a great departure from the current type of storytelling and more of an ode to the adventure/monster comics of the 30s and 40s.Highly recommended!

I was refering to a superhero going crazy and killing someone. Which is exactly what happened, regardless of whether the person he killed was the person he intended to kill.

No, it wouldn't have. But it wouldn't have pulled a Bendis and sacrificed multiple characters for the sake of a story, either.

Well, I don't know. It was gonna end up that way anyway. I mean, say he goes to them, Cyke is gonna be like "ROFL, we're not gonna kill a f**king baby. Are you high?!?" Then Bishop would have had to go do it on his own anyway, only this time, he might have been able to convince others to help him. Like Colossus, or, I don't know, Hank. Then we'd have three characters effed up instead of one. bishop in the end, is a minor loss. So, you know, whatever.

remeber when Bishop used to talk about the traitor to the X-men......and he thought ti was gambit...then it was revelaed to be Xavier during the whole Onslaught thing....

I figure now it was Bishop.

The one issue I have had with Bishop being the betrayer is this.

Back in the Onslaught saga (which I love), Bishop realized, before he gets his butt handed to him, that Gambit was not the betrayer of the X-Men, but that it was Xavier gone evil. It turns out Xavier was the one who killed the X-Men and thus caused Bishop's future to happen, so when they defeated Onslaught, they stopped Bishop's future from happening.

Why then now, is it explained that the baby really was the one who causes his future to happen? So now he decides "Hey, I have to kill a baby to stop my future from happening!"

I mean, what the frick!?!

Now in the end he tries for a second time to kill a man holding a baby, and instead of hitting Cable, he shoots Xavier in the head, possibly killing him. Does this not now make Bishop the betrayer of the X-Men, and thus he has to stop himself to stop his future?

WHAT THE FRICK IS THAT ABOUT?!?

Bishop's purpose officially ended when the Onslaught saga was over. I have no idea why the powers that be are even entertaining this part of the story, since it goes against established X-Men history.

I LOVED Messiah Complex, and feel it is a classic X-story that deserves to be among the better stories post Claremont. But the whole Bishop angle of the story really bothered me.

Terminator....and other movies and books that feature time travel type stuff......the future is going to happen....you cannot stop it. So Xavier was the traitor and caused the ****ty future...Onslaught was stopped, the future is saved? Wrong, future is still gonna happen but now has a new catalyst....the baby. Had he suceeded in killing the baby some new catalyst would have come eventually to bring on his inevitable future.


of course that is tossed right out, because they already established that there are multiple futures.

Some X-men I just don't like. Bishop, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Psylock.....then they all got put on X-Treme X-men and I still ****ing read it......

Place your bets, folks. Hot on the heels of Civil War and Messiah Complex, let's get ready for the Secret Invasion! Pleace your bets. Which hero will be the sacrificial lamb who'll be needlessly shot in the final issue of the crossover? This ending (apparently) can never be done too many times! Make mine Marvel!
I'd be pissed (as opposed to a sarcastic bastard), if I didn't know about X-Men Legacy. Chuck's been shot. Moving on.
Pixie and Dust certainly got their chances to shine in this issue. Good for them.
Ugh, does anyone really care about the Rogue/Gambit/Mystique subplot? The only thing about those pages I noticed was that Carey acknowledges Rogue's real name.
Is it me, or does Chuck's body disappear in that last panel on the page where Scott breaks up the team? Was that on purpose?
Nice job, X-Men creative team. Really. It was a good crossover. The ending just left something to be desired.

it appears the whole prophecy is a conspiracy. I'm guessing Aghanne convinced the Augers to fabricate a prophecy where someone will destroy their home planet. Remember, Aghanne is one of the few people who seems to regard the prophecy as a form of hope. She probably wants to "pull the plug" on Breakworld, rather than watch it slowly suffer under Kruun's rule.

Thank you. Thank you. However, one thing I didn't call was the big bad doomsday weapon being a giant bullet. Wow. That's like the perfect weapon, so long as it doesn't accidentally run into any passing asteroids, large spacecraft, or any one of countless planets and stars that likely lie between Earth and some planet on the opposite side of the galaxy. I'll be buying the Giant Size, so I guess I can look forward to that in about 5 months.

I miss Cruz's art. Otherwise, another fun romp for the Original 5. As always, the Mini Marvels page in the back is a joy. "Yeah, let's go fight the master of magnetism with the entire team dressed head-to-toe in metal. ... Dude, just get out of here."

Exactly why Marvel needs to let new series have more time, word of mouth doesn't spread instantanously. Only 6 issues were released before Marvel made it's decision on the book - the normal length of one story arc. Marvel haven't even let the series graze on TPB. Utter lack of support.
