Is that what they said? That these were supposed to be running along side by side? If they did, then I suppose they screwed up. But, from what I've read, I haven't seen anything that would say that they were supposed to. I mean, when Morrison's run started, Bat's had been working so hard, that they had cleaned out Gotham and Alfred was trying to get him to take a vacation. I'd have to figure that Morrison's entire run took place after Dini's Detective run.

I thought IC was supposed to clear up continuity.:csad:

If Morrison is late, it's understandable. He's got a lot on his plate. Wildcats, Authority, Allstar Supes, 52, Batman, and whatever else he's got coming up. But I fail to see how a story that takes place before his run even started can conceivably steal Morrison's thunder, or how putting an editors note in the front of said one shot, can somehow be considered, playing favorites. It's a necessity in an age of f**ked up continuity.

I think DC should just give up on the Wildstorm relauch (from what I hear it's not that good) and the All-Star line.

Personally I think comic book writers should have an unwritten rule of no more than 3 books.

They gave themselves the ultimate get out of jail free card though :(

Why did superman get owned by a little girl in the last issue?

Well...ummm...superboy prime performed a daring jailbreak off panel, he punched some walls causing a weird mojo meaning that all established fact no longer matters. Don't worry though, he's back in his cell now...

The Wildstorm Relaunch has been okay. Gen 13 has been good, so has Ennis' Midnighter. I'm holding my opinion on the Morrison's Authority and Wildcats because the teams haven't even show up yet. (especially in Authority)

Wow, I didn't read into that editor's note that way at all. I was glad to see it.

THOUGHT:
52 Week #31 - Next week's gonna be a helluva week if the set-ups are any indication here. Keep on truckin'!

Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes II #3 - Avengers vs. the Adaptoids! All-out action with the startings of Pym's mental defects that get him kicked off the team several times! Great stuff, a sequel that so far lives up to the original.

Batman Confidential #1 - When I read the solicits for these Confidential books, they came off as DC's answer to Loeb's color books for Marvel. So far, while established this takes place essentially in Batman's second year, it reads just like any other Bats book. Hell, they couldn't even be bothered to add some of the elements to his costume to at least differentiate it from the current look in the main books. So on that point, it was a bit disappointing. Story-wise, gonna give a few issues to show me what it's got.

Beyond #6 - The ploy revealed! The villain revealed! And a hero is dead! Okay, I didn't like that part too much but at least he went out a hero. Hopefully the resurrection they hinted towards won't completely and totally suck as most resurrections do. Dead means dead, Joe? Better not apply to characters we actually LIKE.

Detective Comics #826 - Now here's Batman done right. Robin on his own and at the mercy of the Joker! If there was any wonder why TAS was so great, this issue shows you. Dini knows what he's doing, and this makes for some of the best Bats reads I ever did see.

Doctor Strange Oath #3 - Another great book. Strange is actually pretty cool in this run. I ain't too big a fan of magic stuff or Strange,so ya know for me to be enjoying this it's gotta be good.

Invincible #37 - Mark saves his friends and we learn his agency is up to dubious plots. Ah, so nice when governement agencies fall into classic molds. Fortunately for me, the Handbook came out (which I'll get in the next batch) so that'll give me a little boost on the Invicinble universe until I get my hands on the collected editions.

Irredeemable Ant-Man #3 - Wow. This guy just gets worse and worse. Definitely illiciting the emotional response towards Ant-Man that the cover proudly states.

Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #22 - Hobgoblin is born! That's right, Hobby stole Greeny's gear and Greeny ain't too happy about it. And of course, Spidey is caught in the middle. These last couple books have really made me see MASM in a new light. I've bought all this time but never read. I'm gonna hafta go back and correct that, methinks. Just gotta ignore the crappy art at the start of the series...

Marvel Holiday Special - Not as funny as last year's, but still good. Some very creative holiday themed tales that tie in to some of Marvel's past recent projects.

New Excalibur #12 - Juggernaut's tale continues, and it's great! This new writer took some time to find his footing, but now he's got it and doing WAY better than Claremont. He even utilizes his established sub-plot points better. Plus, Exiles artist on the book...can't beat it. Bring me part 3!

Newuniversal #1 - The New Universe's revamp begins with the white event. Sets the tone for the series, so let's see if this NU gets a better reception than the original NU did 10 years ago.

Nightwing #127 - Dick is burried and has to claw his way out, offering a review of the story so far. Not bad, but felt more like a recap issue than a continuation of the story.

Spider-Man and Power Pack #2 - I love this "kiddie" books. They're light, they're fun, and they actually manage to make some old jokes funny again. The first arc is concluded in a satisfying manner, and I can't wait for the next.

Spider-Man Reign #1 - From what I hear, this is a riff on one of the Dark Knight stories. As those came out BEFORE I started reading DC regular, all the little similarity nuances are unfortunately lost on me. As such, this book was just one giant WTF moment for me. Mighty, mighty strange. We'll see how it plays out, and it better be worth a $4 cover price.

Stan Lee Meets Silver Surfer - I love how Stan can poke fun of his own writing by having SS spouting off poetic dialogue constantly. Back-up stories were funny as usual, and of course gotta love classic reprints. Happy 65, Stan!

Supergirl #12 - SG had a lot of potential when she started, but this book is on a rapid decline. New artist doesn't compare to the previous, and SG comes off like a spoiled little brat rather than someone who doesn't know their place in the world. There's a few writers out there who can handle the teenage heroines believably, and this guy ain't one of them. Also, the shocking new Terra! Yeah, I bet it'd be shocking if I knew who in the hell she was. The one flaw in DC is they expect you to know EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER they have, whereas Marvel usually gives you some kind of introduction to the lesser known.

Superman Confidential #2 - Sale's art in this series isn't as good as prior work, and the story is kinda...blah so far. This one is actually attempting to be like the color books somewhat, but just lacks what Loeb brought to them.

Ultimate Vision #1 - Vision goes on her mission, then gets captured by people looking to exploit her and a piece of Gah Lak Tus. Okay so far, nothing spectacular. I have little faith in these Ultimate minis, especially a sequel to one that was a complete and utter waste of 3 years and a lot of paper.

Uncanny X-Men #481 - Is it me, or do the X-Men just not feel like the X-Men no more? All in all, this one's running in a pretty formulaic plot. I guess Bru's using up his A-game on DD and Cap, which is just fine by me.

White Tiger #2 - Another good issue. So far, I'm digging the new WT. I hope she's gonna be around for a long while.
