So, Mockingjay is going to come up around $200m short from the last film. That's pretty significant.

It should still be able to cross the $700m WW mark but being in the Top 5 WW this year seems out of it's reach. Will need another $105m+ to be in the top 5 and I don't see that happening. Should be able to pull another $75m or so though. If it has indeed lost China due to subject matter issues then there's no way it gets to GotG's WW level. Not that it has a great chance even with China.

Or people are now wising up & most are not seeing Part 1 of movies anymore. Especially when the book is only one book

Until Hobbit gets near the end of its run 4 of the top 6 are CBMs and apart from Spidey not the biggest CBMs. The other 3 should all see good boosts for their sequels. And if Spidey sees a return to quality and gets a rest somehow he might get back to big numbers one day. Very encouraging that even films from the 2nd tier of CBMs are able to dominate the box office nowadays.

The Avengers better remove part one from infinity wars and call it something else.

I haven't watched any of the HG games movies ( just not interested) howeever i've read some articles saying that the last HG movie suffers the same thing as Harry Potter Deathly Hallows part 1 in that it a very slow movie with no real action saving everything for the finale.

There's actually a lot that happened in Mockingjay Part 1, they just didn't do as good a job of implementing it. In contrast, Catching Fire had a vastly, vastly superior screenplay.

I'm surprised The Hobbit has managed to make so little. Has it been released worldwide?

I believe almost everywhere but China. It should finish #2 WW though with around a billion give or take a few tens of millions.

It's only just been released though. Should have a lot more by the end of the weekend.

Ah I see, China should give it a huge boost.
