It'd be great if Sonic could keep this momentum going.

I don't think the film will be #1 of course, but if Sonic is within the top 10 highest grossing films at the end of this year, I'll be happy.

Yeah, I think we can put off any billion dollar hits in the first half of the year. And potentially in the last half of the year.

Great run for BBFL so far - over $400m now.
BOP has sunk without a trace - shame but I was never even remotely interested in seeing it.

Highest grossing movies of the year:

1. Bad Boys for Life $405,8 million
2. Sonic the Hedgehog $266,7 million
3. Dolittle $217,5 million
4. Birds of Prey $188,9 million
5. The Gentlemen $102 million

Domestically the two first months was a bit better than last year, but still 2020 is already far behind 2018.

BBFL is showing great legs and as someone who loved it I couldn't be happier.

Films set to release over the next few months are pretty screwed unfortunately.

The box office this year is going to take a massive hit.

I wonder how many more will follow suit after Bond got moved?

Top Gun:Maverick had its release date delayed in Europe because of the Euro football championship.

I understand the Studios moving movies because of the Corona virus or any outbreak but doing it because of sport events is simply moronic.

Noone is gonna watch a bad movie if there is no sport event to watch and people will still go to a good movie regardless if a major sport event is coinciding with the movie.

Those people making those decisions should be fired no questions asked. What a big joke.

Wonder why Onward is missing on Box Office Mojo's worldwide chart.

We're starting to lose some heavy hitters with F9 and A Quiet Place II being delayed. This is going to be an underwhelming year at the box office.

F9 yes, A Quiet Place 2 not really. I see it performing similarly to It Chapter 2.

Its weird how most people were saying that 2020 is going to be a smaller year for movies, then this coronavirus outbreak happened. I wonder if we could see at least 1 billion dollar movie this year?

2019 was a record breaking year but 2020 will be a bust. :csad:

I will try to remain positive that the Eternals movie is going to be a break out hit movie of the year. However, I feel like the movies that were supposed to be released in March to May would take a hit due to the delay. Even if things are back to normal. I feel like its never a good thing when marketing was already in full force and the movie got delayed 2 months or 2 weeks before its initial release.

They might have to increase their marketing budget as some of it has been done too early now.

The Euro and Worldwide cups eat up lots of time almost daily, which leads to non die-hard fans to not attend theater showings.

Can't be compared to the NFL or NBA. It's completely different.
