Box Office Article

Every year everyone says this is going to be the biggest summer of movies ever! And then every year we are disappointed.

I bet a good chunk of those listed will be significant flops or under-performers.

you forgot ghost rider,

Dude, GR rides into theaters in Feburary- not summer.

BTW, Spidey is going to kick Sparrows ass!!! You're going down Pirate, first film was good, second film made me (as a fan of the first) feel assaulted by how much they actually ruined about what was good about the first film. Srry for my rant, just- really hated POTC2. You're going down Sparrow, Spidey will make you walk the plank!!!

Great, you idiots manage to turn every thread into a box office thread, good going.

Pirates 2 rocks, and so will Pirates 3 hopefully.

Pirates 2 made a little more money. Get the hell over it.

??? Get over what? Guess you have me confused with someone else- ?

And in your opinion POTC2 rocked, in my opinion it sucked hard. And as you said- "Get the hell over it." I have my opinion, you have yours it's life.

Most here at the hype do not understand the concept of difference of opinion so I would not even bother when it comes to that concept

Probably, but well-established franchises like Spidey, HP, Shrek and POTC are not likely to disappoint. We´re sure to get some disappointments and flops, though.

spiderman3 will defenitley beat potc2 and break tons of records.

I got a hunch that that either shrek or pirates will delay their release date.

If Potter were to move back to November, I could see Pirates moving into its July slot.

I have to admit that since 2002 I'ven been saying that "next summer" will be brilliant, but have been consistently disappointed. 2006 easily the worst as I have not enjoyed any of the big 4 (MI3, X3, POTC2 and SR).

But 2007? Even with a 30% success rate of good movies, that's still more than we got in 2006.

And nobody has even mentioned the new Police Academy!

(PS I can't believe I forgot about Transformers in my first post).

Lots of great movies next year just can't wait. Spidey 3, shrek the third, transformers, ff4 2, simpsons movie, harry potter, just to name a few. Spidey 3 is my most anticipated followed by transformers.
spiderman3 will be the best out of all of them, biggest movie of 2007.

I've already decided that Spidey 3 and Pirates 3 (despite POTC 2 being overly silly) will be seen by me in the theaters, while Shrek 3 will maybe get a rental later on.

Nice read. Summer next year is going to be insane.:word:

Er, I do.

Shrek 2 was great.

Totally agree. I may not go opening day, but Shrek 3's a must-see for me. Not as much as SM3, of couse. :woot: Hairspray is also coming out next summer (which I'm thrilled about!) but it's probably not gonna be a high-grossing film. Musical's aren't for everyone . . .
But hell, I just wanna see John Travolta in drag!

It will be a may like no other. MI3 could have opened huge and probubly would have if not for an odd choice at villain and a hero who has lost favor in the publics eyes.

Spiderman 3 will have a tremendous opening And for some reason I think Shreck and Pirates stand the most to lose in going up so close to one another.

I think the Simpsons movie is going to do increadibly well as you are looking at a huge audience perhaps damn near close to audiences like that of Star Wars that Have NEVER had the opportunity to go out and see this product on a big screen. I think out of all the SUmer movies this one stands to make the most profit when compared to budget. This movie is a kind of holy grail for Simpsons fans and we can only wonder how crazy it will be.

there are alot of movies coming ut in 2007 that are ganna try to beat spiderman3, but those movies and no movie is ganna beat spiderman3 that i am sure of.

agree but as I mnetioned with the Simpsons movie the Budget is going to be much smaller then Spiderman so in terms of pure profit for Fox I think the Simpsons movie has most potencial
