Transformers Box Office Thread

I'm serious. I DO remember seeing it. I couldn't have been the only one. Anybody else see that? Something about Peter Cullen or Shia being signed up for 5 movies?

They better hurry, cuz the world will end in 2012.

i think it was a 3 picture deal nosebleed.

My head hurts, now I want 2012 to come along :(

LOL WTF!!!!

That's swedish stand-up comic Jesper Odelberg. He's really wheelchair bound (has cerebral palsy), but insists on being called a "stand-up comic". :oldrazz:

His appearance on Norwegian television in 2006 with his band, Boys on Wheels, brought him wider fame, when it appeared on various Internet video sharing sites.

Calm down dude, the doomstay asteroid will only hit far away from where I live. According to the scientists, it has a 97% probability of hitting Australia.

Listen, I was about to write my colourful review about the transformers while I'm flyin, you just killed my state of mind. Ohh the downward spiral is a long one :csad:

pirates 3 did not cost $300million to make
i think its somewhere near $200 million and Spiderman 3 is the highest.

Great opening for Transformers, I don't have much interest in the film but I admire a fine boxoffice performance when I see one. Good for Bay and crew I guess.

These numbers are farther proof that if you show people something they haven't seen they will come out to see it in droves. WB could have had these numbers last year if they would have gotten over the fact that we aren't living in 1978.

Over rated to whom? You? Firstly, it's a badge of honor per say among movie makers, and fans alike. The Spidey franchise has enjoyed these bragging rights for way too long, and constantly bring it up to help them generate more money from their investors and what not. Titantic enjoyed it also. Telling your investors that investing in a 'B.O breaking franchise' that will yeild them back his/her money in a few days is a very lucractive bargaining chip when it comes to financing other movies, you know. So it involves alot more that just numbers.

It´s overrated cuz these numbers are always a little pushed for by ticket price and theater increases, and it´s true about the Spidey movies and any other of those record-breaking numbers. TF had a huge opening, celebrate it, but don´t take this whole comparison/number thing too seriously. We end up fighting with each other, people being defensive of their favorite franchises, when in the end it´s all pretty relative and all fans of those popular franchise should be simply happy that their passion is being shared with a lot of people and a new generation of fans. This whole thing with Spidey and Transformers fans trying to put the other franchise down is annoying and deep down pointless.

Actually what's really funny about 2012 is that Michael Bay himself is suppose to direct 2012 The War of Souls. I'm sure this has been mentioned. And if you guys search the internet, you can find the exact time that the Earth forms a meridian with the center of the galaxy. The reason for all the hoopla for this end of the world theory.

And yes Transformers should beat Superman Returns Box Office receipts. Superman chugged it's way to 200 million. Transformers should make it there before the end of the second week. Everyone I know that's seen it, wants to or has already gone again.

It never ends huh.

I didn't realise there was a problem :csad:

Any people that had doubts it would cross the $300 million mark, just got owned.

There was little doubt it would cross 300 million worldwide. I think people meant 300 million domestic which is not a certainty yet. It will be close.
