Transformers Box Office Thread

exactly.

If Harry Potter can't make it drop over 50% on the weekend, nothing will.

However, I don't think it will be able to stay ahead of Shrek 3. It will probably

end up with 316-318 m. Enough for the 3rd highest domestic gross of the year.

I agree. It'd be great to see Transformers finish ahead of Shrek, but Shrek's weekends vs. Transformers look to be too much.

Yeah, but Simpsons and then all the movies on August 3? Those who want to see it again will, but I doubt we'll get anymore bored movie goers. :(

BORED? What???!!!

Are you kidding?

I saw the movie five times so far, and the fith time i've expected it to bore me, but no . . . it was still FUN!!!

My third, and fifth time i went bymyself, an those are the times I've enjoyed it the most . . . I dunno why, but I'm just being honest.

I plan to see it at least four more times, before it leaves the theatres. Still noticing new stuff. Like this last time, I finally saw Sam spraying that S7 guy in the face with the nitro :yay:, and when Megatron awakens, did everybody see that he pulls out his mace there already?

Also, the more i watch the scene during which Megatron yells: "I can smell you boooooy!" he then kinda stalks Sam like a hound [note: not Autobot Hound], and even barks. :woot:

No, I don't get bored either. But Movie goers who complain about 2 and a half hours complain.

Oh, OK, I'm sorry . . . must have misread your post. :trans: Yea, some people just don't know how to appreciate true screen gems.

Yeah a movie has to be a hour and half to keep people from *****ing. Tf will beat that fatass ogre.

I like a long movie. More bang for my buck. As long as it doesn't drag on.

Yes, me too! In which case, TRANSFORMERS doesn't fall into the dragging category [at least not for me].

Not at all. After each showing I go to, I want to sneek into another theatre.

Domestically, Potter has a tough time keeping up with the other blockbusters. Obviously, worldwide is a different story but if history repeats itself, Potter may find itself behind SM3, Shrek 3, AWE, TF and maybe even the Simpsons, at least in North America.

I know that Goublet was #1 WW 2 years ago, but domestically it was #3

Hey Erzengel - I remembered our few posts about the Simpons a little more than two weeks ago... this what what you said and I basically I replied that I thought the Simpsons would do $130 million tops whereas you thought it'd do $200 million. With this weekend's opening, it could end up right in the middle of our two guesses.

I laughed reading over it and thought you might get a chuckle out of it too...

Well if if it made what $29.5 million on Friday? It could very well have a $90 million weekend which means that $200 is in the bag possibly going to $225.

If it clears $200 million I'll order a cookie cake in your city and have it delivered to you. I am that positive it won't do $200 million.

Ratatouille had a much smaller opening is heading toward a 215 million total.

Domestic: $276,234,000 58.9%
+ Foreign: $192,437,683 41.1%

= Worldwide: $468,671,683

Quoted because I love cookie cakes.

It's like a giant cookie with icing on it. :)

It should say Erzengel, You Were Right. $200 Million Domestic
