Probably seeing this today, so I should NOT see this with my mom who I'm super close to?

^ :hehe:

I can remember at least two couples/families who left after the focus group, not a movie for everyone I suppose :funny:

I saw one couple leave after the scene with his Boyfriend. Not even 10 minutes into it.

A group of about 5 people left half way into it and never came back.

Oh yeah, and they barely knew what they were talking about huh? :hehe:

My mouth was on the floor when she tried explaining how important global warming was.

I can't wait for a .gif of the rampaging guy at Straight Dan's event. He was the one that looked like he was going to cry at the end.

Also that chair came pretty damn close to striking Lutz on his head, pretty amazing how often they endangered themselves in this movie.

I can only be curious as to how much of the movie was staged.

The stage mothers segment comes to mind.

I was telling my friend how much I hoped that most of that Arkansas UFC thing was staged. I mean, it was scary with that crowd :shock The chair nearly striking them made me think it wasn't because Cohen looked a little scared there for a second.

I live in Alabama and about an hour from Cullman County where the hunters where supposed to be from. People ate that up.

The weird part is the only time our crowd was shocked/silent would've been when Bruno was asking that one mom about what her kid could/would do for the park. The losing weight talk actually got gasps lol...

enjoyed it a lot. the wife enjoyed it too

EDIT: Also this was crazy. Guess how many times I had to show my ID? 3 times.

We get to the window he asks for my ID I show him he gives me my tickets then warns me of how bad this movie is. Why not warn me before I buy the ticket? So then we stand in line and it says Bruno now seating, so I hand the lady my ticket she doesnt tear it but ask for ID, I show her and she says "walk down to theater 8 and see him" *points to a cop* I walk down he is standing next to the door to go in. He asks to see my ticket and my id..i hand him both, he tears my ticket and looks at id and from what I was told he was stationed there the entire movie to keep kids from coming in.

I had to show my ID three times as well, I've never had to do that before. It's not a big deal, just kind of surprising. After watching the movie though, I could understand why they would go through such lengths.

I never had to show my ID and saw a bunch of kids who looked under 17 with no adult around.

hmmm

I only had to show my ID once before going into the theater. There were 2 workers and a security guy, and they were like; "Show your ticket to the guy on the left, and your ID to the guy on the right."

Plenty of walk-outs during the movie tonight. As for the movie itself, eh...kinda disappointing. I expected a lot more than SBC than exposing some toothless Southerners as homophobes. It was just a lot of recycled material that, when compared to Borat, isn't all that funny. It did have its moments, but the bad outweighed the good, I say. 5/10 for me.

Damn, looks like I might have a hard time getting into the theater. Hopefully mine isn't as uptight.

I had to round up. So I gave it a 9. That's a loose 9 though.

By the way, I noticed a lot of scenes from the commercials & trailers were cut. The one that stics out is Bruno & Lutz chained together at a mall and Bruno telling a store employee that he's gay. I know this kinda thing happens in films, but these were 2 scenes that were in pretty heavy rotation prior to its release.

That's what kind of amazes me, I mean if they went into Brüno knowing what Borat (2006) was all about, then I don't know why they'd walk out on his more particularly vulgar alter ego Bruno, like c'mon :funny: Did you think he was gonna hold back at all? :hehe: Or were you really not "offended" by anything in Borat to begin with? O_o :hehe:

This wasn't in the movie was it?

I know in the beginning he said "Vasssup!?!" but I guess it was an alternate take.

This movie was nuts. I loved every second of it though. So with Ali G, Borat, and Bruno retired (well, the latter soon to be retired) what comes next for Cohen?

There had been rumors that he would star with Will Ferrell in a Sherlock Holmes comedy produced by Judd Apatow, but Ferrell mentioned during "Land of the Lost" promotion that the film was on hold indefinitely.
