Breaking Bad Movie | Um...what?? Why?? Haha

I just finished Season 5 earlier today, and then watched this immediately after and man did it not disappoint. Aaron Paul killed it as usual, and it was really cool seeing those cameos even though there might have been some inconsistencies. I got to say though that more than anything else I absolutely loved the cinematography in this movie. Just the way it's shot looks beyond beautiful and very cinematic, and I also wasn't expecting Scotty from The Righteous Gemstones to show up either. That guy is great in this too.

Really liked it. Classy and well done and I loved that Vince didn't force any connections between Jesse and other characters and BCS and avoided 'twists' and such.

Also so many ridiculous complaints about actors looking older/different. It's been years, people age. Be glad you got the movie instead of whining.

Rewatched the series before this. Literally started this 30 mins after Felina.

I thought this was pretty good. Completely superfluous. But I liked it.

No real flaws for me. BB is still the greatest show of all time imo and Ozymandias is still the greatest episode of all time

EDIT: I went into a media blackout after this. Just saw that Robert Forster died. Damn shame

I mean the only one that "took me out" of the movie was Plemons as Todd.
But yeah what're you gonna to do. Those kinda complaints are silly

Plemons threw me off at first but I got used to it pretty quick, was great to get more of Todd.

I loved this. A nice little coda to put a cherry on top of a perfect show. Gilligan hasnt missed a step with the vibe and mood of this show. The cameos were very welcome and fitting.

Also, Jesse Plemons’ appearance really threw me off, but whatever. Kudos to Gilligan for not even bothering to try to make Plemons look like he used to through cgi or whatever. He knew whoever was gonna watch this would get over it quickly and I did. Lol

Jesse Plemons is such a great character actor man. It's still hard for me to believe that this is the same guy who started out in stuff like Varsity Blues and Like Mike, although I mostly remember him from the vampire episode in Fear Itself. Even with his noticeable weight gain it never bothered me or took me out of the movie because of his performance being so on point as Todd.

I enjoyed the hell out of this, but there's something that Better Call Saul has, as its own entity with its own identity, that this was just... missing.

Almost like this was just Vince Gilligan's (extremely good) "What happened to Jesse?" fan fic.

Yeah I was glad to see him.
He's a great actor with such range. Been a fan since Landry on Friday Night Lights. To be able to do Landry or his character on Fargo to Todd in BB or his character in Black Mass is incredible.

That's a perfect way to put this

Like I said in my review, it's just like the epilogue to Red Dead Redemption 2.
Sure, it's not necessary but it was damn enjoyable.

Was it just me or is the pacing on this film very very good. I had to pause it at one point to do something and I felt that there was a lot more coming and the timer at the bottom showed it only had 12 minutes left.

Overall I really liked it. As some have said it wasn't necessary but it was a nice send off for Jesse.

I did really like it. But it
doesn't really advance things, in fact it kind of ends exactly like the finale did. The only difference is Jesse is literally in a different place at the end and he's more happy I guess? But I thought that last shot in the finale pretty much summed it all up. He was free at last. He's even more free then? /SPOILER]

This is from the creator of the show so "FAN fic" is a weird thing to call this.

This was real good. People say it was unnecessary but I think Jesse's arc, while essentially the same, feels more complete now. This was a very nice, cinematic rumination on who Jesse was and is and how he pulls together what's left of himself into someone that is the same but also new.

I loved the visual humor of the series translated into widescreen Alexa 65 gorgeousness and with all that time to breathe thanks to the slower pacing. And Gilligan remains a wonderful storyteller even if the story here is a very simple one.
