Bring on the Magic to Paradise Island... Jason Fuchs IS the Script Writer

I think for Fuchs sake we should give him the benefit of the doubt

Jason Fuchs might be given the credit, but i have no doubt he worked/blended other script ideas from different writers. There was the 5 other writers going on about a few months ago, he might be using all the best ideas into one. We can hope.

You've ruffled some feathers hiring competing writers to work on some projects at the same time, such as with Wonder Woman. What's the strategy?

Every project is different. On some projects, we have multiple writers working together. In some cases, we put writers together who have never been a team together. And sometimes, there is only one writer whose voice is right. In the case of Wonder Woman, the right approach was to have writers pitching different scenes within the framework we created.

And that framework mentioned is probably being orchestrated by both Fuchs and Jenkins i believe in order to fit within the wider DCEU.

I see people freaking out about Fuchs writing this, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the script got a rewrite by someone else. I'm expecting that for a few of these.

Fuchs is too much of a newcomer and his body of work that is known to us so minimal for freaking out to make any sense as a reaction. Simply put, we don't know whether he's good or not. Yes, film he worked on recently flopped, but since when is that solely script writer's fault and not director's?

As it stands now, any kind of reaction to Fuchs, positive or negative one, is premature.

Heinberg relaunched the WW series after Infinite Crisis (Who Is Wonder Woman? arc).

I said a while back I expected Fuches to not get credit especially after that interview with him when he was asked about it.

I don't know if this news is a good or bad thing, guess we'll see

Ugh. Heinberg's arc on Wonder Woman was awful, and Johns has never impressed me either. While I wasn't fond of Fuch's work on Pan, I'd heard his script was changed a lot by Joe wright during shooting, so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Now, all I'm think of is Thor 2. I'm honestly not even sure if I'll see this in theaters now. Guess I'll just wait for the reviews.

If you base your going to see a film on reviews, I feel sorry for you. Fuchs gets the benefit of the doubt but these guys don't? I hate how people put funk on movies based on preconceived notions of this or that. As if Greg Rucka or Gail Simone couldn't write a terrible script because you may or may not have liked their WW comics writing. At least wait to see a trailer, goodness.

For me, I would've given Fuchs a chance because Pan was the only work of his I know. With Heinberg and Johns, I've already been exposed to a significant amount of their work to know whether I like them or not (and honestly, I'm having the same doubts with Johns on the Batman movie; Affleck's a talented director but Gone Baby Gone was his only good movie). I also don't watch trailers (to avoid spoilers) so that won't help me.

While I'm no great lover of critics, and usually don't care for movies that universally praised, if a movie is dumped on there's a reason for it. Sometimes there are outliers (MoS & BvS aren't great, but they're not terrible either), but for the most part I usually agree with critics when they dislike a movie.

I'm still hopeful that Patty Jenkins will be able to make a decent movie out of this (as I loved Monster), but then I thought the same of Alan Taylor & Thor, which is the only Marvel Studios movie (so far) that I didn't see in theaters.

A lot of that post was just me venting. It's just another example of Hollywood ignoring the key ingredient in making a good movie, the script. I may or may not see the movie in theaters. I'll probably end up seeing just because I'm more interested in what DC is doing nowadays than Marvel. I just hope they didn't blow it.
