We all know Bruce Wayne paints his eyes before putting on the Batman mask.

But in TDK Bruce's face was washed (or tears of mourn for Rachel). Or Nolan
simply decided Bale didn't look well on screen with painted eyes.

So when in TDKR Bane kicks Batman's ass and tears away his mask
what Bruce's face will Nolan show us?

I would like to see something like this. The punched face, under the rain,
of the freak and mentally sick Bruce Wayne.

I hope Bruce really hits the bottom so his rise is even more epic.

Of course Nolan could even not show us Bruce's face and fade to black after Bane tears away the mask.

This is sooo deep, bro. Definitely deserves it's own thread.

hm... very interesting conundrum!

I do actually think that after that scene, we will see bruces face with the raccoon eyes.

Bruce Wayne doesn't paint his eyes. The actor Christian Bale does. His character doesn't. There is a difference! The eye paint is used for the obvious effect of keep the area around his eyes dark, so that everything is black. How ever, we are not meant to think that Bruce Wayne took 5 minutes to apply black make up around his eyes.

I can guarantee you that if we see his face right after the mask is torn off, he will not have any black make up around his eyes.

Yeah, that's what I always thought.

Bruce was unmasked in "Batman Begins" at the batcave, in a subtle way. It was the better way, I think.

And remember what "Batman Returns" did to this problem.

The idea of Bruce painting his eyes black is too similar to Heath's Joker.

I really wish he had. He woud look scary and weird.

Paint your eyes takes five seconds in a rush. :woot: Put two fingers full of black paint, close your eyes, apply quickly over, open your eyes, done. :oldrazz:

Wow. You over apply some eye-liner these days and all of a sudden you become a mentally sick freak.

It's not an eyeliner... It's a guyliner. Just saying... :D

In Goyer's original BB script, he made a point of having Bruce paint around his eyes. Bruce had accidentally left on the raccoon eyes when he came up from the Batcave for his birthday party and Alfred had to remind him. So I guess it's not completely outside the realm of possibilities, but Nolan DID cut that part out, after all.
