The Dark Knight Rises Bruce Wayne's real face behind the mask. The mentally sick and the freak.

Since when do we know Bane is climbing out of the well outside Wayne Manor? The more plausible assumption is that scene is him climbing out of that hole in India.

The Lazarus Pit?:awesome:

I can't help but think this was started with the intention of being a troll thread. However Bruce Wayne's mental state is something I would like to see explored, especially from Lousheeus and Alfred's perspectives.

They need to show the panda eyes IMO - it would be ridiculous to have the Returns style movie magic, this is Nolan's version and it would just be another differentiator

In addition, i think it will remind the audience of the Joker and the argument that Bruce is just a freak like him

Add to that it will give a jarring effect to accentuate the fact that he's just been beat down by Bane

After thinking about all the above, I would really be disappointed if he is not shown with the panda eyes

as if nolan wont use movie magic...he did it with jokers hair already.oh and who says we will see such a scene like in the poster? i mean maybe he unmasks him...but the poster is just an image showing banes intension or so....

Bruce Wayne doesn't paint his eyes. The actor Christian Bale does. His character doesn't. There is a difference! The eye paint is used for the obvious effect of keep the area around his eyes dark, so that everything is black. How ever, we are not meant to think that Bruce Wayne took 5 minutes to apply black make up around his eyes.

I can guarantee you that if we see his face right after the mask is torn off, he will not have any black make up around his eyes.

Again..........

/end thread

Bruce Wayne isn't mentally sick or freak. He dress like a Bat for obvious reasons in BB. He is using fear.Mask wouldn't look as scary as without black eye paint.

Using war paint doesn't equal being mentally sick or freak. Commandos have it. Old warriors had it. It's not like Bruce Wayne too much in black metal :awesome:

Batman paints his eye area before putting mask on sounds logical. I don't understand why it should suppose to sick or freak especially for a guy already dressing like Bat.

Yeah, Bruce with panda eyes in the climax of the movie. The definition of nor ridiculous.

And, as someone else said, like Nolan didn't use movie magic.

Wasn't the whole The Dark Knight movie, even more the whole franchise, devoted to prove the exact opposite of this? That Batman is NOT like his enemies?

Add to that it will give a jarring effect to accentuate the fact that he's just been beat down by Bane

A real black eye maybe?

No, they don't need to show the panda eyes. We understand that Batman may be more like Joker than he would like to admit. We can pretty easily figure out how so. We don't need to be beaten over the head with that theme.

I love the idea in the OP - it's not about teh realizms but the dramatic effect, it's a visual signifier that would serve the story and character in an unexpected and startling moment. Panda eyes FTW

I am certain in BB we saw an unmasked Bruce in the cave who then put the cowl on and before no panda eyes, after black around the eyes. In TDK we have a sad, greiving Bruce sitting holding his cowl i have his penthouse with the rest of his bat suit on and again no panda eyes(i really dont think a guy that painted his eyes when donning the mask would wash the paint iff when he just comes home and doffs the mask and slouches in his chair while he mourns his last hope of normalcy dying a
firey death). I am pretty confident that we arent supposed to believe that Bruce paints his eyes like Big Daddy.
