Infinity War Bucky Barnes- The Winter Soldier

Yeah. It likely just meaning they have no intentions of using White Wolf for the movies, but you've got a white guy temporarily being looked after/protected (even adopted into? who knows how it'll go down in Infinity War) Wakanda, so let's just do a little tip of the hat to the name and put it on Bucky as a wink.

It's likely nothing but that, I doubt he'll ever be getting a vibranium suit or anything. He's a white guy, they name their warriors after animals - screw it, the white guy's the White Wolf. Probably jack-all else to do with the comics guy.

If Bucky makes it out of IW (and A4) alive, I don't want him as the new Cap. I'd rather he be leading The Thunderbolts if they end up doing that.

Agree! I don't think Bucky should have to take over another identity. I know that's what happens in the comic, but Bucky is popular enough in the MCU as he is.

A look at Bucky's new costume.

Probably right. I'd like for him to maintain some loose link with Wakanda at least, being grateful for their help.

Yeah. That'd be fine.

I'm basically figuring it's just the equivalent of the Union Jack pattern on Falsworth's jacket in TFA. Comic fans'll get it, nobody else cares. The Bucky thing's probably just like that in terms of a one-and-done easter egg, "no plans to use White Wolf in sequels as of yet, but we've got a white guy under Wakanda's protection...name drop time."

I don’t mind if they (anyone from Wakanda) want to refer to him by that name in future too.

Had a feeling he would get a new arm in Wakanda, I imagine it will be vibranium. Hope Bucky has a big role in IW.

I hope his vibranium arm has the same -absorb and redistribute- power as the BP suit. Would give him some nice options in the field.

It would be cool but I can’t see it. Think that power will be reserved for BP.

Anyone else notice Bucky's costume in Infinity War is very similar to his WWII Howling Commando outfit (same color scheme, similar pants and jacket)?

I kind of take it as visual symbolism that he's getting more of "himself" back.

Where's his scruff gone??? He looks like baby Bucky.

It's just the action figure that looks clean-shaven, he's as scruffy as ever in the trailer itself.

In other pictures, that figure has more scruff. They might have given Sebastian Stan an unfinished prototype when he went on GMA.

Yeah, the nod to the WWII color scheme is really nice. :)

Actually hoping for a lot of TFA callbacks here, somehow, not sure why. I know it's not the first MCU movie (and other movies have segments pre-dating TFA in the shared-verse timeline), but it'd be a really nice way to tie things all together in a Steve-centric way.

Besides, that "I can do this all day" line in CW was the biggest "**** yeah!" moment of the whole flick.

Curiously Bucky used his weapons right handed in The Winter Soldier but is carrying his rifle left handed in the Infinity war trailer. As the Prince in Kings Sebastian Stan was right handed. I wonder if he is like Chuck Connors, The Rifleman, and more recently Tom Cruise he has trained himself to do that for the role.

I'm really liking his new arm. This picture doesn't do it justice.

So is the arm really blue and gold, because in the trailer and the earlier pics it definitely looked more like a chrome/silver color? It looks really dope in that photo though, so I hope that's how it looks in the movie.

It's probably just the lighting.

But yeah, looked gray/silver in the other pics to me too.

Kinda cool that his new uniform is reminiscent of his Howling Commando gear.

Based on EW's set visit report, sounds like Bucky is going to have someone interested in his gun and arm:
Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, the former Winter Soldier now known to his Wakandan friends as “White Wolf,” is laying waste to Outriders while Rocket — in the form of Sean Gunn, wielding a puppet stand-in — distracts him with some offers he can easily refuse.

“How much for the gun?” the furry dealmaker asks, admiring the firepower clutched by Bucky’s mechanical limb.

“It’s not for sale.”

“Okay, how much for the arm? The arm?” Rocket persists. (He has a weird thing about prosthetics.)
