Burn Notice

Yeah, I'd rather have a long, healthy run for Burn Notice in the summer rotation than a short ratings failure in the fall primetime rotation. Granted, it could potentially succeed in the latter, but why tempt fate?

It reminds me of when they toyed with the idea of moving BSG to NBC, on a weekend slot. They actually aired the first 4 episodes of season 1 on NBC on Saturday for a month before putting the axe down on that idea.

Why fix something that is not broken? I mean, it's like the highest rated series on cable right now, why move it? So it can be destroyed by crap like American Idol and Survivor?

Yeah, I hear you and you are probably right. But I keep waiting for a show to come along and officially destroy the so-called "reality-show" format that currently monopolizes primetime TV. Maybe then we can get networks back to providing real, story-driven entertainment.

I like to think BSG would've succeeded on network TV if they'd treated it like the intense, compelling drama that it is rather than a fringe show made only for geeks. Everyone I know who's started watching it has become hooked, including several people who don't even like sci fi.

Who wants to move it? All I said was that USA should air it on a regular schedule. At least until the next season's out.

Reruns, you mean? That'd be fine with me. What does USA air during the daytime now, anyway? It's been forever since I actually got a chance to watch it during the day.

They air JAG, NCIS, and...erm...they used to show Walker, Texas Ranger...

Wow. So, yeah, plenty of room for some Burn Notice reruns. Maybe throw a few Monks and Psychs in there and never, ever air Walker, Texas Ranger ever again.

So...what's the opinion. Are they leaving Miami? Or at least taking trips outside of Miami? Or do you think the story will stick to the same setting?

The impression I get is that they are expanding outside of the area.

I hope they stay in Miami, personally. I grew up in Miami (although not in the South Beach area, where Burn Notice is filmed), so I like the fact that it takes place there.

Burn Notice: Season 2 is coming to Blu-ray (and DVD) June 16th. :D

Yeah. Unless there is a good storyarc where Mike has to leave Miami for a few episodes.... Miami should continue to be the setting.

I usually only see what USA airs during the evening/night, and nearly all I ever see on is Law & Order.. junk like that. If they cleaned some of that out, plenty of room for Burn Notice and Psych reruns.

Excellent.. best news all day

Right now, USA's big reruns are Law & Order, NCIS, Law & Order, House, Law & Order.

Oh, and did I mention Law & Order? :p

Seriously, there's no reason they can't at least make Friday night prime-time the original series rerun night.
Monk
Psych
Burn Notice

Is Monk still any good? I stopped watching last season because it got sort of monotonous.

It's still monotonous like it has been for the last couple of years. I hardly ever watch it either. But it has the occasional episode decent enough to check out.

Yeah they're down to like 4 good episodes a season.

Next season will be the last.

It's time.

Most of the mysteries aren't even really hard to figure out anymore, if they don't end up showing you the whole thing Columbo style anyway. But at least Columbo made it entertaining even when you knew who the killer was.

Yeah, eventually it wasn't even really about the mysteries, it was just about what zany thing Monk would freak out about this time.

Esposito out, Bloodgood in.

Just days after being cast as Jeffrey Donovan's latest arch nemesis on Burn Notice, Jennifer Esposito has abruptly dropped out of the role, sources confirm to me exclusively. Journeyman's Moon Bloodgood has stepped in to replace her.

Esposito's spokesperson couldn't be reached for comment, but a Burn Notice insider says a "medical emergency" forced the Samantha Who? actress to step down at the 11th hour. "It's a total bummer," sighs the Burn source. "Everyone was really excited to have her."

Bloodgood assumes the role of Michelle Paxon, a Miami PD detective who becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth about Michael. The character makes her debut early into BN's third season, which started production last week.

A woman obsessed with uncovering the truth about Mike's situation? Sounds like Fi will be getting pissed left and right this season.
