The series premiere is tonight at 10pm on USA, after the season premiere of Burn Notice. Anyone watching this show tonight? The premise sounds interesting.

Not only watching. But enjoying much.

Great job on that show. The first 10 min are some of the best in TV show intros ever I think. We got so much about the character, what he stands for, his place in the world, his values and it put out there so simply.

Also, the show's full of eye candy, make me want to take the train out to the Hamptons this weekend.

Is this show really in the same universe as Burn Notice? Cause they was a ad for Royal Pains and it was Micheal from Notice giving him supplies via a letter and box.

It could be. But then again it's just cross promotion to hint at people that if you enjoy Burn Notice you may enjoy Royal Pains.

I really enjoyed the premiere. I always love medical shows where they show the doctors in a glitzy setting (probably why I love Nip/Tuck so much). Definitely watching this show over the summer.

Lol. the scenes with Michael are mirrored. I have no idea why they did that.

I havent watched the show yet, but it would be amazing if they had a crossover ep.

Im still waiting for the Monk/Psych crossover.

So far, so good. I really liked the premiere and the comic relief brother.

Damn I missed the first episode...too busy packing. Is this show good? I was really looking forward to it. In NYC two days ago they were handing out blue lollipops that say Royal Pains USA on them.....I got four :hehe:

^^^It shows great promise I will admit.

Yeah, it's just to promote both shows. USA has done commercials like it before, with characters from multiple shows interacting.

I thought the first episode was pretty good, even if there seemed to be far too many coincidences. Plus, the British/Indian lady is slammin'!

I want to see more of Tamara Feldman!

I'm watching the premiere right now. I didn't enjoy it much for the first 10 minutes or so. The dude's fiancee was annoying and their interaction was really saccharine and annoying. Then he lost the job, she turned into a catty b****, and I started enjoying it. Then his brother showed up and I started really enjoying it. Good stuff.

EDIT: Okay, so I got to the end and I like the show a lot. The only part I didn't really like was the ham-fisted contrast between the hospital administrator chick and the fiancee (with the whole changing what he can't accept/accepting what he can't change thing). But I like all the characters and the premise. Should be an interesting addition to USA's line-up.

I'll be honest...when I first heard it was a doctor show, I instantly thought "doctor show? BLEH!!" I hadn't even heard of the show until the premiere of Burn Notice.

But I gave it a chance because it's USA and they seem to have a talent for putting on FANTASTIC character series.

And i'm shocked to say i'm really impressed...for a pilot it's great and I see it only improving from here on. I liked the story, the characters, the witty writing. It really is a great show, I think USA may have another hit on it's hands...yet again.

The only USA show I don't watch now would be In Plain Sight...but that's only because I can never find it ON!!

USA is owned by NBC right? Why the flying eff can't they run shows like this (and all the other great shows they produce) on their broadcast networks?

Personally, I think it's because they're too hung up on oversensationalized crap, since they all mistakenly believe that is what will draw people. In the meantime, their character-and-story-driven shows on cable draw in better ratings than a lot of their primetime crap, even the reality drivel.

EDIT: To emphasize my point:

Ratings: USA Beats Broadcast With 'Burn Notice', 'Royal Pains'
'Burn Notice' had best season premiere ever with 6 million total viewers

By Alex Weprin -- Broadcasting & Cable, 6/5/2009 2:48:43 PM MT

The third season premiere of Burn Notice and the series premiere of Royal Pains delivered strong ratings for USA Thursday night.

Burn Notice had its best season premiere ever, drawing 2.5 million P18-49 and 6 million total viewers, topping both a rerun of CSI (1.5/4) on CBS and the premiere episode of The Listener (1.5/4) on its broadcast sibling NBC.

The series premiere of Royal Pains at 10 p.m. drew 2.3 million P18-49 and 5.6 million total viewers. That beat the second episode of The Listener (1.4/4).

Royal Pains delivered a better P18-49 rating and more total viewers than both Burn Notice and In Plain Sight did in their series premieres.

Nielsen national data for the broadcast networks has been delayed till Monday morning, due to the NBA playoffs on ABC.

Early overnight data shows that ABC handily beat the competition with basketball, though it looks like viewers in the mood for scripted fare drifted toward cable.

I don't know...limits in censorship maybe? Maybe they can go abit further with content on cable-centric programs as opposed to the regular networks. I'm just guessing really.

Isn't 6 million sort of not great for a major network, though? I thought USA's shows got far fewer viewers overall than the big networks'.

6 million is Chuck or Heroes numbers, I think...

Did everyone stop watching this already? I thought the second episode was good.
