Let him be. Now I understand when people say a few fans can be irrational

You're right ;) Campea needs to wise up.

Look, I just dislike his tendency to get hyperbolic before he sees anything, that sounds like the height of irrationality to me. I'll give him credit for being mature enough to admit when he's wrong, and he did say he's open to the possibility of a number of his calls being wrong, but I just don't understand his need to rip a decision apart and then go "BUT...I could be totally wrong". It comes off as those "No offense, but [really offensive remarks]" kind of comments.

So we've identified 2 of the Critic's Choice's critics: One gave BvS a 90% and the other gave it a 100% rating. :wow:

So you guys want Movie Talk to just be everyone saying they are neutral on every topic?

Didn't some movie critic say he liked a WB movie and we all assumed that he was talking about "Midnight Special" ? Now, He could be referring to that or BvS.
I'm not aware of him/her and this Douglas chap. He (Douglas) did gave score for BvS and Midnight Special, so he saw both films.

Carrie Keegan person is also hard on movies, look at her other ratings

No, not at all. I'd say approaching things more reasonably isn't that much to ask for though, is it? Going "This is awful! This is just terrible! She's 95 pounds, WW isn't 95 pounds!" is overshooting things a bit.

And then it looks a little silly when he's on board with it after it turns out she actually wasn't just sitting around doing nothing for 18 months but was actually working at doing the role justice.

Reacting reasonably to things we know (casting decision) and being neutral about things we don't know and can't prove (her actual performance) seems like the kind of thing a professional would do, no?

Campea's hate on Gal is irritating. I don't think she's the best actress in the world, but I'll at least give her the benefit of the doubt. She may just surprise us all, limited screen time or not.

Not to harsh anyones buzz, but 100% from that site is USUALLY a placeholder, it's happened before (I remember when we all went nuts over that site during the TDKR days)

If it IS a legit 100% that it would be the first American blockbuster film to get full marks from Douglas, unless you count Happy Feet (which is kind of a blockbuster, and more Australian) so I'd be weary of that 100.

The idiocy of someone who immediately dooms pretty much any casting, let alone the casting of Gadot as Wonder Woman, is just as bad as those people who were immediately convinced she would be the greatest thing ever, and posted a 100 gifs of her a day on this board acting like she was always important and to think otherwise is ignorant.

Of course only one of these outcomes is preferable, but they are still both sad examples of jumping the gun without seeing the final product.

John Campea bias against Gal stems from how he messed up Jaimie Alexander's chance at the WW role, its all guilt and denial on his part.

I have even seen him give Ronda Rousey more of a chance in movies, and he even admitted she cannot act

I think all sites start from 100 and go from there, including RT.

Shhh. Don't say this again. You'll be labelled irrational. :o

What's this about?

I don't know everything about this situation, I'm not sure if anyone really does, but Campea interviewed her and then later on movie talk let slip that her and WB had been in talks about a big role, heavily hinting at the role in question being Wonder Woman. A lot people say this messed up her chances, but again I'm not sure if anyone knows the full story.

Ah okay, thanks.

Did u think mos deserved a 56 on rotten tomato though?

Isn't that the beauty of aggregate sites, it's not a sole opinion, it's a measure of how a whole body of people like a film. I can understand why you'd be puzzled how a film you'd like was disliked by so many others, but I don't understand how that number somehow translates to a films overall quality.

If people are so into ratings and stuff, a better one to look at is the average rating.

The average critic score of MoS is 6.2/10. That seems fair to me.

Erm no it just goes however the first reviews come in, but I do know that reviews that show up as 100 on that site are sometimes placeholders waiting for the actual score (probably waiting for the embargo to end)

If it's 10/10 then that's great stuff.

Why are people still so sensitive because for a while an internet media guy didnt like a specific pick for a roll and was a bit salty? Who cares, the dude isnt the devil he had an opinion and it differed than yours. Having been here from the beginning and reading everything posted on the matter (because you guys cant just ignore him you need to plaster his tweets every where even though you hate him) I gotta say you are all way overreacting and being ridiculously hyperbolic.

And it should be noted, I dont like Campea in any way and fully support Gadot and did from the start.

As someone who has watched everything John Campea has been in during the past three years, most of what is being said about him on here is misinformed and ignorant. He has said on many occasions that he wants to be proven wrong, is rooting for her, and when he sees the movie he will leave all his preconceived notions at the ticket booth, and give her a fair shot.

So enough already. You know who's really happy that John Campea is wrong? John Campea. He's a good and smart dude. He deserves more respect than this.
