You know, it's not as if any skepticism isn't justified. I'm happy it's getting good buzz. I was happy when MoS and AoU got good buzz too. When people bring up movie review websites, it's either Rottentomatoes or Metacritic. But CriticsChoice? I've never heard of the site until now, but I do know MoS has a 77/100 on that site, and I know that's not an accurate gauge on how critics felt about the movie. So pardon me for putting things into question.

Never heard of Critics Choice before either, but the fact that MoS has a 77/100, which is by far the most accurate non-biased rating I've seen given to it to date, already makes me like them.

Campea has a 'blindspot' (:lmao:) for a certain star of TV series.

You guys do know Campea is one of the biggest fans right? He gets chills just talking about his anticipation for the movie. Reading on here you'd think he was a Marvel fanboy.

I don't care what he thinks of the movie. His stance towards Gadot was uncalled for.

Yeah, the real test will come on next Tuesday when an aggregate critics' score appears on RT. Then we'll really get the pulse.

It is still encouraging to see any positive scores emerging.

It's kind of ironic that you cited MoS and AoU as a comparison. I get where you're coming from, in that MoS ended up getting a 56% critics RT score; and AoU, despite doing well financially, was seen by the studio itself as faltering in terms of a kind of messy and bland final act. (And trying to pack too many story acrs into a single film.)

Bu at least judging from RT audience, Fandango, and IMDb, most movie fans that bother to go online and rate a film... the audience really likes those films overall. It stands to reason that fans that vote on movie sites are probably the viewers that are most likely to post their own word of mouth reactions on social media, good or bad.

I really think that the word of mouth for BvS will be the thing that could really put it over the top, if it performs great. BvS is probably at the very least going to be a thrilling and entertaining film for most viewers. And if a lot of fans fall in love with it and rave about it, that's the single most important thing to its success.

I also believe that if critics can sense that most fans are going to love a movie overall (maybe despite a few warts here and there), I really doubt that many will pan it. Or those that do will be the outliers at least.

Yup MoS was a 75+ movie.

Never heard of critics choice? Wow. Lol.

Anyway, Fury Road is 89/100 up there. So if BvS even goes down to 85/100 we still have a highly appraised movie in our hands.

You are a fan we get it.. but she had no previous acting pedigree. She is a model only appearing in limited screen-time in the FF franchise. I think he has good reason to worried about taking on the most popular female superhero ever.

These critics choice reviews scores are looking great!

Ah yes, because that's what he really really going for: Pedigree. :whatever:

In other words, because it's closer to your own personal rating, it's objectively the most accurate and *sigh* unbiased?

Lol trying to stealth insult people with the classic "bro it's not so serious bro" :funny:

I don't mind anyone disliking things, that's everyone's right, it's about dragging her name into any and every discussion related to BvS just to remind everyone how he doesn't endorse her.

It doesn't matter who it is or who is being discussed, constantly trying to undermine someone and then crying crocodile tears whenever someone says you should give it a rest makes him a little pathetic.

He just shouldn't have been so sensitive about her casting, right? ;)

Well you know, if you outright insult people on these boards you get banned.

I agree that the Collider crew have done that on occasion, hell Schnepp would say the same thing every time BvS was brought up for months after that Doomsday trailer came out and yeah it was annoying. I only remember Campea bringing Gal up when it was fairly appropriate. Yeah earlier he was pinching it in every not n then but can you blame him? Gal was not a worthy candidate to bet on. But we now see she is gonna do great and Campea sees that and that's why I like the guy. Sure, he fanboy rages out from time to time, we all do. But he is never afraid to say he was wrong.

When has he said that?

No. Totally different. You can be sensitive about the casting of a lead iconic role that will be in multiple movies and a lead in one. But don't be *****ing about the guy *****ing about the casting..

Ever since the comic con where Lennix read out the DKR quote most people here have been following BvS and its developments, Campea only started getting behind this and stopped his whiny little out the side of his mouth remarks after two trailers in.

Almost everything else was knee jerk scepticism. He wasn't a fan to begin with, he was a minor detractor that slowly changed his tune when footage made it clear this was going to be half decent. He hasn't been one of those on the nose haters and he is behind the project now, but it would be dishonest for People to claim he wasn't on the unreasonably sceptical bandwagon for quite some time.

Michael from Kelly & Michael (interviewing Henry) loved the movie

Kelly hasn't seen it yet but her kids bought tickets online

Didn't Man of Steel's early buzz have issues like serious tone and dark/serious Superman?

Only bad things i've heard of BvS is some weird things. (but in a good way)

Edward Douglas gave BvS a 10/10
He gave Deadpool a 9/10
Cloverfield Lane 7/10
Hail Ceaser 8/10

Don't know how long you've been watching collider but he was a fan from day one. Check their old videos on AMC.

Dude still claims the comic-con trailer is the best trailer he's ever seen.

I dont remember mos getting this much positives early on... i dont think it was like this....i could be wrong ,but there is more of a positive vibe on bvs so far

And to me for that girl to give it a grade like that...considering what she gave to other films...she seems like a tough critic and im so sure she would be the tyoe of person that would give mos a bad rating....i think its a great sign

Campea was an ******* when it came to Gadot.

IIRC he hated the fact that his fancast didn't come to fruition. For the sake of argument lets say I understand that.

What I don't understand and absolutely won't stand is his vitriol towards Gadot when all other "popular" choices for Wonder Woman weren't exactly mind-blowing worthy.

The first thing he said before giving his opinion was, "I'm going to give her a shot, I'm gonna check my preconceived notions at the door"

Yeah he wasn't exactly nice about it but he had far comments.
He judged her physique, which at the time wasn't what it is now.
He said he didn't think she would carry a franchise which again is far because we hadn't seen her act other than FF.

He wasn't an ass hole at all...I think your love of her is getting in the way here.

aaaaaaaaaand he said himself that all the other choices weren't right for WW either..

His ending comments were that it's very possible that she will "blow our socks off".
