BvS BvS: Early Tweet Discussion Thread (NO SPOILERS) - Part 3

Whether you're a fan or fanatic, it doesn't matter. The HYPE never ceases to disappoint in entertainment factor. For that reason alone it's great and worth it. Hands down.

Yep. That was in the trailers right? So if it's not a spoiler I will say:

The Knightmare sequence felt like a GL yellow ring/Apocalypse pyramid scene/Thanos reveal mid-end credits sequence but shoehorned into the middle of the movie. Wouldn't have even made sense as a credit scrne, but then it wouldn't have detracted from the pacing.

reminds me of when people felt this scene from watchmen slowed down the pace

i personally didn't feel that way but i can see it

I dread to think what it'll be like if it ends up doing poorly with the critics though because I think it's safe to say there's a lot of people here who can't handle criticism in any form, justified or not.

This thread specifically has been a huge entertainment source.

Some of the positive tweets really have me hyped up for this movie. Snyder's MoS was such a letdown for me, I can't help but have a little bit of "worry" still lingering in me.
Is it 24 hours until reviews start coming out?

More like 48 hours, right?

Tuesday 3:00 PM PT

So more like 40 hours.

A comment that seems to have popped up more than once in tweets is that this is better than MoS, in which departments we can't be sure, but it does seem that a couple of people who had issues with MoS have enjoyed BVS so it appears promising

Guys, no spoilers in this thread..... it doesn't matter if you tag them.

Hm not quite. That sequence while tedious was just an origin story shoehorned in. I think if anything the completely different musical cues and overused slow motion in the Manhattan origin is what killed the pacing, not the content in it.

I'd compare it more to the Thor/pool/visions scene in AOU

Batfans on social media really gotta tone it the hell down.

It's not a spoiler. Just talking about the Knightmare sequence that was shown in the trailers and the reaction to it. Not extra details that weren't divulged yet.

Okay. Fair enough. With what happened with Snark, I have to watch what I click. :D

That's definitely what I was hoping to hear! :woot:

Yep. Only making it worse for DC fans. They're giving the whole fandom an awful rep. Was hoping the three year break between MOS and BvS would calm everything down. Tuesday's gonna hurt

Anyone who values their sanity should stay off social media for the next month, we all know it's going to mind glowingly stupid on there.

Why is Tuesday going to hurt? Do you know something we don't?

I'm seeing a substantial amount of name calling and bad mouthing to normal folks who were at the premiere. Not gonna link it any of it cause I've seen a lot of profanity. Just search #bvspremiere on Instagram or twitter

Because hordes of nerds are going to see any level of criticism, no matter how constructive, as an attack and will then fly off the handle.

Sure, some reviews have influenced wether I see a movie or not.
But, I have never been so angry at a critic that I hated what they said.

Yep. And I wish I could say it's just a bunch of kids but there's an embarrassing amount of 20-30-40 somethings who have zero civility or social grace. Or logic comprehension.

Anyway, this is the only reason I keep circling back to say "keep expectations in check from premiere/fan screenings" because when both critical and GA reactions come in I hate seeing the complete deconstruction of people's mentalities. It's why I take year long breaks from the hype.

So what you're saying is that it's the internet? LOL. Those people exist everywhere. Read Facebook comments and you'll get the same juvenile crap. People are angry about everything. Sadly, I don't even think they know why.
