As an actual film critic, I don't let anyone's opinion phase me. I just found it interesting, that's all. Joe, at least in the regards to the film's first few trailers, didn't like the film, or at least had large doubts.

We are all here, in some way, shape or form, to find out what people think, and stir our own excitement over it. At the end of the day, the entire process is silly, because our own experience, and thoughts are going to shape what we think.

You hit it on the head brother. People saying that some of us here rely to much on others opinion (AngryJoe for example) are not reading some of us correctly.

3 years of build up man, i like getting in the moment, i love the feeling of waiting on certain peoples responses and hearing what they have to say. It doesn't mean it's affecting how i'm gonna feel going into the movie. It's enjoyable, some of us geek out more then others do, i tend to allow myself to get worked up a bit, love the emotional rollercoaster! I enjoy it, IT'S FUN AS ALL HE11!!!

VERY EXCITING TIMES FOR ALL OF US!!! :cwink:

Fair enough, I can agree.

Or important in any other way.

I'll sometimes watch reaction videos just to see people geek out, but the moment they either seem to be faking it, or taking themselves too seriously, I'm out. That's my issue with Grace Randolph, for instance. Takes herself WAY too seriously and acts like her opinion ought to carry any weight, despite the fact that she sometimes seems like she couldn't logic her way out of the bathroom with the lights off.

Exactly.

People can watch what they like I'm definitely not trying to discourage that, I watch a lot of these channels myself, but most viewers can't seem to contextualize the information they get from here. They see some dude sitting in his apartment's kitchen with 900,000 subscribers who reels off one liners and assume subscriber count necessarily correlates to quality or soundness of information. Every YouTube user bar one or two like the guy from Emergency Awesome seem like vapid attention w***es who start buying into their own hype.

You can chop off my one hand and I'd still have too many fingers to count the amount of neutral, well-thought out channels about CBM stuff.

A few more positives:

Man that chick was right...WB has a lot of accounts ;)

I am glad the positives are high, but in reality to me only one opinion matters and I will know it early Friday morning as I walk out of the theatre. then I will turn to my girlfriend and hear hers ;)

genuine laugh out loud moment there :hehe:

:D

...and that seems as good a way as any to end my evening. My dumb ass has to work tomorrow. Going to have an epic amount of catching up to do here tomorrow night...

It's because those youtubers are effectively a voice for fandom, they exhibit the same enthusiasm and love for these properties as everyone in this forum, so naturally people are going to want to hear the views of someone who is like them.

Speak for yourself mate. I'd hate for people to think angry Joe and tyrus what's his face and that other idiot with the dreads speak for me!

Did roach post anything? I dare not venture outside this thread for fear of the Great Spoiling!

I saw what you said, and I have seen what you have been saying since the project was announced. I stand by my post. The vast majority of the tweets are positive, a few are middling and a super minority (like 1 or 2) hated it and you bring up how other movies were received well before they sucked. Now maybe it is a coincidence that you and a few others rain on parades every time people get hyped but I have been around fandom long enough to doubt it.

I am sorry you arent going to like this movie, and we, the fans who are hyped will stipulate that yes Craptastic Four and Green Lantern had positive reactions early on. We dont need you and others to tell us that every few pages like we are toddlers.

I apologize if I mischaracterized you, and I mean that honestly.

I don't like to rain on parades but I don't think there's anything wrong with people not buying into the hype and saying it. This isn't a safe space, opposing opinions and viewpoint should be encouraged. I'm sorry if you feel as if I'm constantly playing Captain Buzzkill but I prefer to exercise caution and have no issue saying it.

It's what he does. You'd be better off ignoring him trust me. He never really likes much either.

Broseph, you've gotta quit bashing jmc for doing the exact same thing you do, just on the other side of the spectrum.

Wanderlust Trey ‏@terrance_may 2m2 minutes ago Batman v Superman was like a 98/100 first viewing but like there's SO many hints at other movies.
Dillon Borrego ‏@BorregoDillon 5m5 minutes ago
Batman V Superman was exactly what I wanted it to be. 2 and a half hours of pure badassery
armando ‏@armzmxz 2m2 minutes ago I liked #BatmanvSuperman. It exceeded my expectations, but then again my expectations were low because of Man of Steel.
Air-ick ‏@KmsAirwick 2m2 minutes ago I'm really depressed to say I didn't like batman v superman much. I'm still gonna give it a second watch, but over all the jam packed stuff
A.C. MacKenzie ‏@ACMacKenZ 4m4 minutes ago One of the most anticipated sequences in #BatmanVSuperman is also one of its worst.

The only channel I subscribe to and value is Superhero News. Those guys are great, very knowledgable, very fair and they don't take themselves too seriously

The majority of the rest either like the attention too much or they feel as though their opinions count for more than the common man

Yeah, their channel is about as level-headed as things get on YouTube, I enjoy a lot of their content. The rest are of them are vying for the positions of CBM Kardashians.

It's because those youtubers are effectively a voice for fandom, they exhibit the same enthusiasm and love for these properties as everyone in this forum, so naturally people are going to want to hear the views of someone who is like them.

There's a difference between sharing someone's opinions and adopting someone's opinions. The way people go on here about several YouTubers it's like Jahns or Magnus immaculately conceived Jesus Christ personally.

There's also a difference between valuing someone's opinion, and being a fanatical zealot that apes their views.

I'll definitely agree with you. I think the only YouTube 'personality' I'll ever put faith in, in any regard, at least in terms of intelligence, is RedLetterMedia.

That being said, most are entirely personalities, like Jahns or Stuckmann, that sell themselves, more than their knowledge, intelligence or their ability to properly critique.

Precisely, these people are brands. The way they shape and prune their personas online is nothing like how half of them are privately. Most of them sell a social aesthetic to the drooling masses and they're incredibly aware of how crucial perception is in this game. A fair few make a living doing this, they'll be and do whatever their viewers want to keep their cash flow consistent.

Well they don't speak for me either, however there's a large portion of geek fandom they do speak for.

No, I believe he said he saw it. That's as far as I read.

Well at 10:45pm he said seating was starting in 20min, so his movie prob began at around 11:30ish, and it's 2:17am now, he is prob still driving home at the moment my guess.

Looking forward to his reaction. :)

I'll drop it because you said so flickchick. But I don't do the same thing. I'd rather just discuss the things I love and the positive stuff. There's plenty I dislike or downright hate. The stuff I downright hate I just don't discuss at all usually because there's really no point. But the stuff the irks me and bothers me I definitely discuss. I do so in TWD forums and Gotham forums for example.

The Indie Revolver writer said -- "I wish I saw the film you saw then. The entire third act was video game cut scenes and silly dialogue."

That's precisely what I was afraid of. I know the MOS action sequences are lauded amongst the fan community but they largely did come off as video-gamey to me. I was hoping this one would be much more real.

Almost all of his tweets feel like he deliberately wanted to nit pick. Which is fine, and he/she is absolutely entitled to their opinion. I read through his tweets, nothing felt constructive.

No one's going to mistake it for real life photography, but for now I'll at least maintain that unlike MOS, this battle was so much more fun and exciting to watch. It's basically the Hollywood live-action version of this:

I tuned out of the MOS battle after a minute in. I was on the edge of my seat for BvS.

You do know the director stayed the same from MoS, right? And that he had the cinematographer from some of his other ventures, right?

Whenever people say they wish something intrinsic about Zack Snyder's style changed I have to shake my head. That's like saying you wish Michael Bay suddenly made movies that you didn't need a frontal lobotomy to enjoy.

Lol, I've been on with you on these boards for years now, and you are at least as relentlessly positive as jmc is cynical. You've admitted as much on more than one occasion. And that's not a criticism, it's a nice way to be, but you've just gotta stop dissing him for being the same way - just on the other side.
