BvS BvS: Early Tweet Discussion Thread (NO SPOILERS) - Part 4

You do know the director stayed the same from MoS, right? And that he had the cinematographer from some of his other ventures, right?

Whenever people say they wish something intrinsic about Zack Snyder's style changed I have to shake my head. That's like saying you wish Michael Bay suddenly made movies that you didn't need a frontal lobotomy to enjoy.

That, and I'm a bit confused, at least with criticism like that, with what people expected from a movie called BATMAN V SUPERMAN. Normally, I don't expect The Shawshank Redemption.

Which is a bit hilarious to me, because these are the same people that said Nolan couldn't film an action sequence. Eventually we will make everyone happy(but probably not).

No one's going to mistake it for real life photography, but for now I'll at least maintain that unlike MOS, this battle was so much more fun and exciting to watch. It's basically the Hollywood live-action version of this:

I tuned out of the MOS battle after a minute in. I was on the edge of my seat for BvS.

Alright I'll take your word for it.

Lol, I've been on with you on these boards for years now, and you are at least as relentlessly positive as jmc is cynical. You've admitted as much on more than one occasion. And that's not a criticism, it's a nice way to be, but you've just gotta stop dissing him for being the same way - just on the other side.

Yes I am relentlessly possitive. But I'm not completely 100%. There's plenty of sections on these forums where I discuss certain negatives etc. But like I said most things I hate I just don't discuss. But hey, you told me to stop and I've stopped so no worries. The thing that sucks sometimes though is seeing posts pop up from people on your ignore list through others quoting them. Wish we could fix that. But either way moving on, I got you flickchick no worries :word:

I'm not sure how exactly you film a fight with a super-powered alien capable of sonic flight and expelling beams of energy from his eyes "realistically" - it's not ****ing real

And yeah, I guarantee half the people that are complaining that it seems too "video gamey" are the people who said 'I want it to look like the Arkham Games!" or "Nolan's fights are so boring".

The CBM culture necessitates complaining though. Even if people get exactly what they want, they'll complain, because most of them don't know what they want - all they know is whatever they get isn't it.

I'm positive basically most of the time, because comics, music and movies are my passions. I love escapism from everyday life. I'm a dreamer.

As night goes on and the Tweets come in, it seems the more and more even the scores are becoming. If you have asked me an hour ago what the scores sounded like, i'd say 90's high 80's (not RT terms, my own), now it's sounding more like 70ish.

Tomorrows the big day, RT time baby!

Likewise  Love escaping into video games, movies or tv, music, comics.

I thought the MOS effects were too video gamey at times too and could definitely be improved upon, but I hate when people just complain relentlessly about CGI as though you could sell a fight between two superpowers aliens with nothing but practical effects

70 is perfectly fine. This is clearly a polarizing film, and honestly, that's the way it SHOULD be. I think films like this that are created with multi-meaning messages are going to push people the wrong way, as did Man of Steel. If it ends with a 70%, no complaints from me.

And jmc is not completely 100% negative, either. I recall a few raves from him on big movies. Just remember that, and we're good.

Superman II did it :)

Couple Blue screen shots but the debris falling and buildings breaking apart were all real. As were the roads cracking and cars slamming.

There are also a TON of things that haven't been spoiled, so fear not fanboys #BatmanVSuperman

Is it me or do people in this forum care more about other's opinions and tweets about the movie than the actual movie?

The biggest difference was Chris Terrio and Ben Affleck's writing. The cinematographer was a plus.

There's no way that would wash with a modern audience, especially with the complete lack of superspeed and Superman and Zod wrestling atop a car like a couple of school kids

They did do a good job of it for the time though

The only thing I'll say about Batman Vs Superman is that it may have the greatest live action interpretation of Batman. You go Ben Affleck
Clark Graves ‏@ClarkGraves 19m19 minutes ago Wow #BatmanvSuperman was amazing, words can not describe how utterly mind blowing this film is... @DCComics thank you for this movie.
LOOCHIE DaWhiteGirl ‏@deadhookr 3m3 minutes ago Burbank, CA BATMAN V SUPERMAN WAS INSANE!

One was an happenstance, two may have been a coincidence but three, three is a pattern! #Mexico #RCMH #IMAX #BatmanvSuperman

Cryptic tweets are annoying.

I haven't seen the movie nor I have read any spoilers but, Cavill said in one of the Interviews that Superman is still not "fully formed" in terms of characterization in this movie, that he is still going through the journey to reach there, as in the Superman we have seen in (say) JLU cartoons. Cavill said that Superman will evolve 100% i Justice League movie.

So, I expect some people having some issue with that aspect.

What did you give it out of 1-10 again??? 8 right? Or was it a 9?
