BvS BvS: Early Tweet Discussion Thread (NO SPOILERS) - Part 5

This is adorable.

So I'm always lurking and I hardly ever post and I have been following this thread since the beginning of the week. There have been so many ups and downs. I won't be able to see the movie until tomorrow evening and with how bad the RT score is I have to say you guys are the only ones that are making me feel excited about this film.

I really want to thank all of you for all your positive reviews of the movie so far.

I'm a huge watchman and man of steel fan. So I struggled with all of the negative criticism when those films came out. I am positive I will enjoy this movie.

It just seems to me that many critics are so unintelligent, it's like they can't make up their mind on what they want.

welcome! stay positive and hyped!

I don't want to say anything about the critics anymore, just make me laugh that the RT score shows that BvS is worse than all Twilight movies but New Moon (and barely better). I will see it tomorrow, but this is kinda unthinkable to me.

anyway, get some more positive from China, there's one guy who never read any DC comic books before; after seeing the movie, he asked people to lend him Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and JL books :woot:

It's only been a few hours, and there's sure as **** a lot wrong with it tonally and especially character wise-- But on the whole I, a skeptic... ****ing loved it. In a very weird way.

Long time Lurker here. I have followed everything on here for the past two years.

This week has been a bit of a roller coaster eh? The good buzz, early reviews, those lads from Pakistan and their enthusiasm. Major spoilers breaking and trying to steer clear. The final TV spots and how great they were! Everything looked fantastic (no pun intended).

Getting those poor reviews really was a kick where the sun don't shine in terms of the shared excitement in this place. I am aware the sentiment is rather more negative than positive. This kinda thing can't help but lower your expectations slightly. But in the end there is only on review that matters. The one bouncing around my head at 10pm when the movie ends this evening.

I will be sitting in the theatre three hours from now to see this thing. Going in, I am excited. I am a little downbeat, I am both hopeful and discouraged. Let's see what happens...

Watched BvS. Content was incredible. Gal, whenever she was on screen, gave me a heart-pounding feeling. Her appearance in warrior-mode brought massive cheers from my audience, and also during certain other cameos. And a standing ovation when the movie ended.

The only thing: The movie editing wasn't up to par. I feel if it was edited better, we'd have an even more enjoyable experience.

I'm so confused. How can there be so many reports of standing ovations if the movie is getting ripped to shreds by critics? Seeing the movie at 6:30, I'm trying to be excited but its hard with all the bad reports so these kinds give me a glimmer of hope lol

I'm yet to watch the movie, but I heard the same complaint from guys at SHN. They wanted to watch 30 minutes longer version to see if it improves the movie. (Don't we all?) Even though I'm yet to watch the theatrical version still. Standing ovation, huh?

I cant arrive at a rating now because I have a massive headache (thanks 3D) and I need to sleep on it to absorb it all.

People in Asia (I'm in India) didn't grow up with Donner Superman and hence don't have pre-conceived notions of what he is supposed to be. We're more open to an unconventional interpretation of these DC characters. Batman drew applause. Superman was already appreciated in MoS so he was never a problem. Wonder Woman got the biggest cheers --- I'm already smelling anticipation for her solo movie --- and so did the certain cameos.

I actually think one or two scenes from the movie could have been cut out because they serve no additional purpose. And it isn't about length rather how scenes were placed throughout.

Yea I saw it. WoM should be good. All showtimes for the next 4 days in my city are sell-outs. The subtle humor in this movie landed well with the audience; I'm not worried about too dark a tone, because Bollywood movies have plenty of stuff which would be termed "dark" and people have no problem with it.

Glad you liked it. I'll be seeing it tomorrow. Wanna know what all the hoopla is about :mnm::oldrazz:

indeed. i think Americans just want a light-hearted, cheerful, kid-friendly superman movie.

if i really have to complain ... it is dark and no kid-friendly movie like the marvel movies

it well deserves a standing ovation. zack to stay! damnit.

I understand that he's an American pop-culture icon, but I'd rather have Superman punching concrete walls, than saving cats from trees. Not that these things can't co-exist, but I believe Superman has a right to be featured in a darker story if needs be.

Zack is one of my favorite directors of this century. He understands the plight of a superhero better than any one else in my opinion.

That's why I'm still hyped as hell, and no ones going to ruin that

it's darker than punching concrete wall. superman failed to save people... people died because of him... and he is vulnerable... no super...

well, it's just a general statement.
it's different presentation in the movie. ;)
