Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Okay, so this is a bit premature. The next Call of Duty will most likely be unveiled next month for the final four, but it seems like it's going to be Black Ops three due to this, a viral marketing campaign via a recent Black Ops 2 update as opposed to Ghosts or Advanced Warfare.

The hype train is leaving the station earlier this year, it looks like the next Call of Duty reveal is imminent so get your social media accounts ready.
Black Ops 2 received a tiny update earlier today (which was even hinted by David Vonderhaar), and now Drift0r has just uploaded a new video showing certain posters on two maps in Black Ops 2 have a new “ghost icon,” which happens to look like the snapchat logo. In fact, it’s actually a Snapchat QR code. Upon scanning the QR code within the Snapchat app, it says “callofduty is already your friend” (if you already added them). If not, it starts following them on your account.
It seems as if this may be related to Call of Duty 2015. We’ll update as we learn more… Stay frosty

UPDATE: The first Snapchat is now live with a 10 second teaser saying “listen only to the sound of my voice…”

Video and pictures are at the link. I think it's pretty safe to call this as BLOPS 3. I'm not the biggest CODer, but the BLOPS games have been my favorite in the franchise. If I'm wrong come May, shut this thread down and ban me for a month.

I loved the MW trilogy campaigns, and loved MW2 MP. The last COD MP I really enjoyed though was definitely BO2. I spent so much time on that MP that I actually never even finished the campaign. So if the next game is indeed BO3 I will be very interested. And should probably finish BO2 campaign haha.

Battlefield is my preference but I really enjoyed Black Ops 1 and especially 2 for some reason

Well, I've not played Advanced Warfare as of yet, but for me, they are a good foot or some above the others.

In terms of campaigns I just always loved the MW trilogy

I think BLOPS was the all around best game in the series, but the MW games, I really did enjoy their campaigns quite a bit. The characters were actually memorable and it told a decent story.

The first Modern Warfare (aka Call of Duty 4) is a legitimately great game. The Chernobyl mission is one of the best missions in any FPS, easy. The other two in the trilogy brought diminishing returns as far as I could tell. I played a metric ton of multiplayer in MW2 and certainly had some fun with it but I don't think it's as good of a game. And I didn't bother with MW3. At this point I'm burned out on the series, having played most of the entries. It is reductive to say all of them are the same but when there's one released every year it is inevitable that the series will get bogged down with redundancy. The bubble will burst at some point, as it did with Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero/Rock Band games.

Yup, I just watched it about 10 min ago. Pretty psyched it's BO3. I was starting to think it was going to be another WaW, which I'm not a fan of.

Now I hope they reveal on whether or not we'll have exos again. I like them, and hope they stay, but we'll see.

Neat little teaser. I'm very excited to see what Treyarch can do with this 3 year development cycle, especially after how surprised I was by the quality of Advanced Warfare.

I never did manage to finish BLOPS 2's campaign. I might have to dig that out.

Apparently some people want to go back to WWII, but I would have lost interest pretty much instantly if that's what this ended up being. Sucks for those people, but I've had enough WWII that I would be okay with never playing a game, reading a book, or seeing a film set during WWII ever again.

The quality of AW was indeed very good. And yeah I never finished the BO2 campaign so I definitely need to finish that. Heck I think I will replay BO1 first as well. Been a long time.

I'd love a WWII game with today's technology, but it'd have to be a game a LOT better than anything Call of Duty churns out.

Has there been anywhere that has confirmed it? The box art looks like he has an enhanced suit, not so much an exosuit. Maybe it's just some kind of streamlined exo that's less bulky and gives us similar movement or simply enhanced abilities. I like the exos, but I won't be bummed if they skip it this game.
