No, because he's right. TDK still would have been big, and probably would have passed $450M or so anyway, but the reason it was AS big as it was is because it contained the much discussed tremendous performance of a big name star who tragically died a few months prior.

You're kidding me right? Are you seriously trying to sell me the notion that 500+ million came from the fact that Heath died? You think the general public cared that much?

Pull the other one, it's got bells on it. The Joker and TDK in general was hyped up waaaaaaay before Heath passed away. Did you see their viral marketing campaign, for example? I don't doubt for a second that Heath's passing was a boost in publicity for the movie. But 500 million worth? Not on your life.

But a Spider-Man movie could never top TDK...especially if Raimi directs it again; and S-M3 COULD'VE been very entertaining and the plot could have actually worked...but for both of those, it did not.

Money does not dictate quality. You know how many excellent movies have been made that have never been on the Top 10 list for highest grossing movie of all time? I wish people would stop competing over the box office numbers. The money a movie makes shows how popular it is to the general public. It does not necessarily dictate how good the movie actually is.

If they keep the personal elements of Spider-Man but give it a wider scope I belive it could be as good as TDK in its own way. First thing would be to have MJ involved but not drive the plot. The movies tend to make every descion Peter makes based on M.J. There is more to spider-man then just there relationship in the comic and it should be the same in the movie. Spider-man is the story of how a kid becomes a man and there are alot more aspect and lessons then a love story.

Yeah i did, but people prefer dark movies , thats the disadvantage spiderman has with trying to top dark knight in money.
