He's bit to thin in Am. Psycho to be perfect imo, but I wouldn't mind seeing him playing Bruce in that shape.
I always liked Batman a bit more bulkier, afterall he's a human being trained to perfection.
Even a Van Damme kinda shape would have been great. But I'm still way okay with Bale.

there arent many who can act and look well trained at the same time:-(
we can realy be satisfied with bale...

Rescue dawn was filmed in summer 2005 and TDK was filmed in 2007. This is a lot more time than what he had b/w Machinist filmed in 2003 and BB filmed in 2004. Which leads me to believe that this leaner physique was a conscious decision by him and Nolan.

You're right about "Rescue Dawn." I know that "3:10 to Yuma" and "I'm Not There" were filming between "Rescue Dawn" and TDK. "3:10 to Yuma" concluded in January '07 I believe and he was pretty thin in that from what I saw from the movie.

I also believe that the thinner look will be explained in the movie (or at least I hope that they do). The way I saw it from the original trailer, when Alfred is talking to Bruce about being consumed by the Batman persona, it seems that Bruce is neglecting himself, both physically and mentally.

No. There's no way he could consume himself with his mission and neglect to maintain peak physical condition. You know what I think? It's not going to be that noticeable on screen watching the actual film and we're pointing it out because we spend waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time looking at stills from the set.

So...muscles that at least vaguely resemble muscles look silly but plating that sort-of-but-not-quite-resembles muscles doesn't?

K.

No, I think they are trying to say that a Batman in full black leather garb of a dominatrix is silly looking. It shouldn't matter, its his opinion.

tdk suit looks great, i find the batman 89 suit with fake abs and muscles really silly.

Yeah, because having more geometric shapes than a high school math book isn't silly at all. At least the 89 suit was trying to look human like which works in my opinion because he is human. When you make him look like Robocop he isn't Batman anymore. It doesn't matter if this suit moves better compared to the older ones, it only matters if it looks good and the TDK suit does not in my opinion. Besides, it doesn't matter what suit moves better, the editing in the film makes it impossible to see anything anyway. So with that said, give me something that looks like Batman and not Iron Man, I saw that already. Maybe if you take the ears and cape off it can be used in a cop movie as riot gear.

Man Ive never seen so much hate for the suit. I hope the suit doesnt drive all of you who dont like it, to not see the movie because that would be silly IMO.

I personally have no problems with TDK suit and to be honost I like it a little bit better than the begins suit

There really isn't that much hate. It's the same people on each side of the debate making the same arguments for over a year now, myself included.

Yes with its ridiculous masculine definition which Keaton couldn't back up.

While I will readily admit Keaton was not as buff as Bale in BATMAN...Keaton wasn't supposed to be buff. Tim Burton had a very particular view of the character, that of the "everyman" who used the suit to intimidate. His Bruce Wayne was still trained, just not to the point that comic book Batman is now. You can't really fault him for that.

Although he showed he can buff up a bit. He just never walked around without his shirt off much in BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS.

While you can tell that he's not huge, Keaton just never really looked all that "scrawny" in the movies. He looked fine as Bruce Wayne and Batman. And it's kind of a moot point, because the man managed to look intimidating anyway.

I am glad you say that, because I love how seem people justify certain aspects of a characters interpretation in a Burton film, yet have such a blatant, moronic view that the Joker isn't the Joker if he isn't perma-white in a Nolan film. Now I loved both Burton's and Nolan's concepts, but intimidating criminals isn't going to make them change, an ass whoopin will. The suits from all the movies(sans Schumacher) are very proficient in intimidation. Honestly if a man in a pink tutu came out of the shadows and beat my ass, I would have a different out look on tutus. SO in close, Bale is the better Batman, according to the comics and my personal opinion, but Keaton was great in capturing Bruce's dilemma.(Keaton is a fav of mine), but that still doesn't take away the elaborate definition of an Olympian imbedded on a leather suit is anyway less silly than the functional suit of TDK.

trying to look more human?????? LMAO!!!!!:lmao:

Well, in Bale's defense, he did film Rescue Dawn before this. I believe the time frame for when filming started for TDK wasn't as long as the time he had for bulking up in BB.

Um... as opposed to the Machinist where he practically killed himself he got so thin and then went up to 220 in what was it... 4 months?

I agree.

This is always what in my mind Bruce's fysic should be:

Like a gymnast. It makes perfect sense since he's always moving and swinging over rooftops. Bale was close to that in Begins.

Yup.

Okay except the flaw in that argument is we know he CAN look well trained because he's done it for so many movies before, including BB. So for whatever odd reason, it's a conscious choice to be thinner for TDK... and a lot of us don't agree =P

LOL! True dat! =)

Keaton was sick in Desperate Measures. He freaked me out. He's such a good actor!

:lmao:

Don't agree but points for the hilarious mental image, lol. Batman can't be looking silly, resorting to beating every single thugs @$$ in order to inspire fear. He really need to inspire fear so that he DOESNT have to beat everyone and waste precious time and energy.

I believe Batman tries to be efficient in that way... if he can avoid a stupid fight because he looks so damn scary the bad guy runs away, thats what he'll do.

Well Batman would scare the crap out of me in any of the Batman suits.(sans Schumacher) But an ass whoopin would be the most sufficient way to punish the evil doer's, Batman's main goal, as well as steer them from crime. He needs to be both intimidating and a trained, skilled fighter, like BB and the comics. And the TDK suit is ideal for both to me.

The Bale physique thing has gone way too far. It was not an accident that he got big for BB and it is no accident that he is smaller now. It is not like if he was asked to get that size again he wouldn't have tried, and most assuredly succeeded. Clearly TDK suit is thinner and he and Nolan decided size was not as much an issue this go round.

If Batman relied soley on his ass-licking abilities, he wouldn't need to wear a Batsuit. He should be physically imposing, not just able to deliver a beating, but to let the thug know before it even comes what he's going to get.
