It has no gothic, bat-like aesthetics what-so-ever. One gets the sense that the designers only grudgingly gave him a horned cowl.

Well when you think about it, there really is nothing very Bat-like or gothic in the Batsuits from all previous incarnations... It really was all in the horned cowl... and maybe the scalloped cape.

Oh and same goes for the comics version by the way...

There's only ONE Batsuit EVER that actually LOOKS remotely Bat-like.

But that's the natural order of things on the Hype.

Whenever a comicbook movie comes out, there is always an aspect of that movie that people find controversial and debate the hell out of it; over and over and over and over.

The only thing that differs is the severity of the debate. Some movies are lucky - Iron Man, if I recall correctly, seemed to cause the least amount of arguements and disagreements (the casting of RDJ probably causing the most debate); whereas your Hulks, Superman's etc have caused tons of arguements and disagreements between fans.

But it'll never change.

Yeah. That IS part of the fun at times. Just an observation. On some occasions I'll engage in the discussion...others are just so stupid in their degree of severity or pointlessness (OMG Nolans using a BLUE tint in the lighting instead of an AMBER one!!!!) that I just shake my head.

But again...part of the fun.

I doubt such needless details as the legs will bother anyone while watching the movie... it's not as if Batman will be doing a full body catwalk or anything.

To me, the suit looks something like this:

Which is good in my books because I love both Batman and Metal Gear.
Even the mesh inbetween the armor is the same.

It probably had some influence on the current design of the batman suit.

Actually, even the first suit from Begins...before it was spray-painted had a MGS vibe to it.

I agree and think thats a good attitude.

I know it's hard to believe, but there are things that I never cared about which after I saw a lot of other people posting and debating on, I got into a discussion and developed an opinion one way or the other. It may be pointless talking but it does help you see the film in so much more detail as well. Heck I probably wouldn't have noticed the thing about the amber vs blue lighting until people brought it up! And now I feel like I'd be missing so much if I didn't listen to all the raves AND the complaints so far, to catch everything that is there.

Totally agree. Can't wait to trade in my 360 and get MGS4 btw. Yeah but the shoulders on this new suit definitely lend themselves to MGS.

Indeed. Personally, I use forums mostly as a vehicle to design and test my ideas. You end up thinking about a lot of things you wouldn't otherwise consider.
