i mentioned on the avengers thread about the flying car. it must be the tech used for the heli-carrier, or the bases for it.

i was waiting for one shot and i got it. it was cap doing a forward roll with the shield, looked cool.

Also, don't forget that flying cars are standard SHIELD equipment.

^^ Read on Cinemaspy that it's a limited edition print of 100, produced just for the cast and crew. So sad.

Classic, art-based movie posters...better in almost every way.

I would so love to collect every poster for this movie. They have been universally excellent.

Right. From my understanding the Batman Burton films were some of the first to use the PG 13 rating.

Nope
when Indy 2 and Gremlins came out it did cause an uproar. Spielberg suggested to Jack Valenti, president of the MPAA to create PG13. Interesting that he suggested it since he directed Indy 2 and produced Gremlins. Red Dawn was the first movie distributed with the PG13 rating. Dreamscape and The Woman in Red were released a week later. The first film to receive the rating was The Flamingo Kid but it wasnt released until Dec 1984

Just got back from the film... Loved it. Few spots here and there that made me go 'hmmmmm' but I know they'll be ironed out with the second viewing, just like with Thor :P

The one thing I will say is that the ending seemed a LITTLE abrupt.

Cap just says "I had a date" and then it cuts to black and ends. Kinda odd

In my opinion, it should have cut straight to the Avengers trailer, or at least after the animated credits.... or perhaps even extended the ending scene.

Some people think that the scene in Times Square was originally intended for the after credits scene while the real ending was the scene of the end of the war people celebrating and kids playing with the red white and blue trash can lids IIRC. The Avengers teaser bumped the NY scene into the actual movie.

Aye, looking back it feels that way to me.

Hmmm yeah, that's what it feels like to me too.

Still, awesome movie. Seeing it again tomorrow.

I would have been fine with the ending of the kids with the Cap stuff in the streets. That gave me chills. That entire sequence did with remembering him. When it got to that part, it truly felt like Cap was this legend that will be celebrated for years to come.

I remember watching filming for the scene and there seems to be so much more than what was shown.

There was an agent who presents something to Cap and leaves. Cap and Nick Fury shake hands(presuming this shows Cap accepting the Avengers Initiative). The scene is hopefully in Avengers in full detail.

This movie has only been out for 5 days and I'm already jonesing for the dvd.
Hell, I was 10 minutes after leaving the theater on the 22nd!
Just do like I did...see it again! (and again next week!) :oldrazz:

Can't wait for Thor's Blu-Ray/DVD in September too!

Now that I think about it, there was a significant amount of time where the screen went to black before that final scene. I suppose it is essentially just an after credits scene that happens immediately... An after film scene, if you will :P

Yeah, and my guess is the Avengers opens up with Fury and Steve in the city, or just a brief recap of the whole scene, like how Thor had the recap of the IM 2 after credits scene.

A cool Captain America-themed image that I hadn't seen before. I thought it would be crass to post it in a Green Lantern thread.

Just seen Cap.... ****ing awesome....

Even if It was originally an After-Credits scene the current ending is preferable.
There is no telling how many people would have stayed to see the Extra scene or even who knew it was there.
Better that EVERYBODY who saw the film know that the hero survived .
It was the ONLY way to go.

I agree. While it would've been nice to end the movie where the kids were playing Capt. America, and show Steve Rogers fade into the history as a legend who saved the world, with the Avengers coming out next year I think it is important to establish to the moviegoers that Rogers is not only alive, but he's in the present-day as well. So when he start appearing in the Avengers' trailers, people won't go "WTF!?"

I was finally able to see this (finding time this summer has been crazy) and I loved it. It was actually better than I was expecting. I thought it would be good, I just found it so much more entertaining than I was expecting.

Evans absolutely nailed Cap for me. Can't wait to see him in the role again.
