Infinity War Captain America|Steve Rogers - Chris Evans

Think the scene with Cap is before the Wakanda battle. Notice how he doesn't have a blood wound on his head yet.

MCU Cap's been way overpowered so far anyway. Throwing the Hydra goon like 20 feet over the tank in TFA with one arm, throwing his shield so hard it sticks into steel walls in TWS, kicking a Jeep and sending it moving in CW.

"Peak human" my ass, MCU Steve is more like comics Peter Parker level strength-wise.

Not sure this Thanos thing is a big deal. Big Purple's probably just toying with him.

Also Thanos is not even trying to truly hurt Cap. He is not even swinging the arm or anything.
He is just moving the hand slowly in Cap's direction. This really feels like an adult grabing a little child.

He's not overpowered; MCU Cap is essentially 616 Cap with Ultimate Caps power set.

Yeah, and you can see by Cap's face that he IS giving it everything.

I'm so delighted that Cap final stand is including in this film just like in the comics. Seriously it shows how much of a leader Steve is he facing off against a Mad Titan, yet he won't back down despite the odds against him. Simply beautiful Bravo Chris Evans

So, yeah, overpowered from what he is in the usual/regular canon. :oldrazz:

Ultimates is an elseworlds thing.

Cap is super human, the formula gave him super human strength and agility. Let's not forget he ripped apart many of Ultrons sentries with his bare hands in age of Ultron, he also went toe-to-toe with Ultron himself. He stood up against Iron Man as well in Civil War.

Yeah it doesn't look like Thanos is really trying that hard. Just more surprised at Cap's strength maybe.

I'm not sure its his strength he's surprised about, maybe more the fact he's actually trying to fight Thanos. Thanos looks like he's sort of thinking ''Really? You want to do this with me?'' Sort of like what is wrong with these crazy people can't they see what a waste of time trying to fight me is.

Cap knocks Thanos's hand away and gives him an Attitude Adjustment.

"RAPADOO!"

*Lights Go Out*

Oh it's Bucky folkes! What an event he's jumping from the tree tops and...OH GOD RKO! RKO!

Suddenly Jason Momoa in a black vest comes out, and everyone lays down and dies for him because it says so in the script.

If Cap can do this -

Then I’ll buy that he can hold back a large purple alien for a bit.

And let's not forget that he was able to budge Mjolnir a bit in Age of Ultron to the point where Thor was visibly worried. I'm a fan of the theory that Steve is indeed worthy of lifting Mjolnir, but pretended he couldn't because he wasn't supposed to and he didn't want to humiliate Thor.

Sure, you're talking about the movies though. Comics Steve (616) has generally been depicted as "peak human", ie. he's basically Olympic athlete level, but at everything.

That's different to being able to pick up cars & stop helicopters taking off and stuff. I mean, I love MCU/Chris Rogers, still my favorite character in the movies the same way as in the books. But he's pretty clearly not "optimal/peak human" in the movies, he's more than that.

Which is fine, it's an interpretation of things. But he's more Ultimates late 90s/2000s Cap, powers-wise, in the movies, rather than classic Cap as he's been depicted for most of his existence.
