Cartoon Network to become "Network"

Because a one-handed facepalm just isn't enough for this :cmad: . . .
:funny:

This news really blows but I got a laugh from this pic.

As long as Batman: Brave & The Bold isn't compromised, I can deal with it. Afterall, I watch more Boomerang than CN anyway. It's still an a$$-backward move by the network though.

First G4 chokes on it, then SyFy...now this. :cmad:

It's their own fault they suck....they don't put out any good shows.

Wow. That video was just...insulting. I mean, CN pretty much died a while ago, but at least they kept up the pretense. Now? Blargh.

Well at least I still have the Funimation Channel. I'm not a huge fan of Anime but at least they're keeping true to their name. All animation 24/7.

I'm just about OD'ed on reality television. :whatever:

This pisses me off to no end as well. Im going to school to be an animator, so needless to say this is an area of passion. I feel insulted that they would deem animation to be worthless. The CN Real **** left a sour taste in my mouth since it was announced, and now they are deciding to virtually **** on my love. **** CN!!! Who the hell is gonna watch Slamball? If the **** only lasted two seasons on the SPIKE TV - the testosterone channel - then what the **** makes them think it'll last longer. And I personally want to skull **** every single teen on the Othersiders.

Not sure what kind of animation it is that you're studying but I hope that it's the hand-drawn type.

I think that hand-drawn is making a resurgence of sorts so if so, stick with it. :cwink:

That'd get you arrested :hehe:

I'm learning 2-d and 3-d animation. I work on ToonBoom Digital Pro, and it's pretty fun. My very first animation was hand-drawn but crap imo. I have improve within the year of studying it. I also worked on a stop motion animation last semester. I personally enjoy hand-drawn animation but I want to get my hand in all of it though.

Good luck to you; just don't let the old school way of doing it fall to the wayside. We need 2-D!

There's only so much 3-D animation that I can take. :yay:

only twocartoon i like are ben 10 and ben 10 alien force. i can't standrest of the cartons i rember one day they showed spider-MAN MOIVE AND BATMAN MOIVE.

I'm learning to use both, but I personally prefer hand-drawn 2D animation. I also think that 2D is making a comeback, because now that the novelty of 3D has worn off, people are starting to realize again how cool and stylish 2D can be. :)

On certain message boards, I get the some of the worst backlash from posters when I say that 2-D is still in demand. Stating to me that CGI is where it's headed and here to stay.

Good to know a few up and comers are still trying to keep it alive.:word:

I think I just shed a tear..another childhood memory ruined even more.

Atleast I will have my memories (oh how I miss the 90s when everything was just so perfect)

Someone needs to call Ted Turner right now so he can fix what they did to his network!:cmad:

Sounds like CN is going the way of MTV back in 1992...Walking away from it's original mission into the abyss.

CN is owned by WB right? Explains a lot, as everyone there seems to have their heads in their ***es about running a network. I guess they're applying the same wrongheaded ideas about how they're running CW into their cable channels as well. WB suits must be smoking the same crack Dawn Ostroff has taken during her tenure as CW boss to think this is a SMART idea. Maybe she's a supplier; I don't know.

What do we need with more friggin' reality shows on a network that's exclusive to cartoons? I for one am tired of these doggone reality shows and the fake people on em; this is why I go days and weeks at a time without watching TV. It says volumes about the sad state of television when you have to go to YouTube to watch a scripted TV show in three parts or buy DVDs rather than turn on your TV to watch it.

Best thing for everyone to do is rant, write letters and blog about it. However if you really want the old CN back just stop watching Network altogether until it becomes CN. Let the ratings drop 50, 60, 70% so some boneheaded suit can get fired.

IDK I haven't watched CN during the day in a good 4 or 5 years (When did DBZ end?). All I watch is adult swim and though I heard the anime's pretty good, I don't really watch it.

Anime is pretty good? All they air now is Bleach. CN gave up on anime a few years back when it started to cost to much.

I don't think things will ever be the same now that channels are divided into sub-channels. Why put classic Toonami on when you can just make a Toonami-Boomerang and get more money from cable/sat subscribers? This was kind of inevitable really. Just like the death of Saturday morning cartoons when 24 hour toons became the norm.

All my friends were into Bleach and other anime shows. I never watched it.

BTW, What the hell ever happened to the Boondocks?

I was incredibly disappointed when this happened. I used to watch and love most of G4's shows.

I miss Portal!!!

I don't really know? The animation was pretty good, might have been canned or its just taking awhile.

Not to mention Judgement Day. That was a great little review show... :csad:

G4, I will never forgive them for crapping on TechTv. I used to learn computer stuff and then they buy it, and go "Hey how can we make this more like Spike?"
