With the release of "The Beatles Rock Band" game and the band's remastered CDs this week, it appears that there's a slight resurgence of Beatlemania around the world. All of this got me thinking...why hasn't there been a movie made about the band? Sure, there were a few back in the '60s starring the band themselves ("A Hard Day's Night", "Help", "Let it Be") and even "Across the Universe" (which only featured their songs), but I'm talking about a biopic not unlike "Ray" or "Walk the Line". I think that a reason why there hasn't been one yet is because there aren't many actors out there that can fill those shoes. I can't really think of who could play a good John Lennon. Daniel Radcliffe sort of looks and even sounds like him at times, but does he have the acting chops? Christian Bale as George? Emile Hirsch as Paul? I don't know, but I'm interested in hearing your ideas. Who would you pick as the Fab Four (and supporting players, of course)?

Actually, there are at least two Beatle related Biopics Down the Pipeline. One is Nowhere Boy which focuses on John Lennon's childhood and the other is a Biopic about Beatles Manager Brian Epstein which they've been trying to make for years.

I dunno know who'd I cast as the Beatles since they'd probably have to be unknown actors . I always thought Ewan Mcgregor would make a good Lennon and Andrew Lee Potts from Primeval who's always remind's me of a young McCartney. I'd go with Andy Serkins as Epstein .

Anyone Beatles fan interested in Biopics should check out Backbeat which is one of the best if not the best.

i always thought they should do a two part film. a first one in black and white covering their earlier years, probably 62-66. then a second film in full vivid color covering the latter years, 67-70.

its a tough cast to fill. but for the love of god, no christian bale as george.

Jim Sturgess as Paul--He looks born for the role.

There's been two films about the Beatles: Backbeat and Two of Us. I enjoyed both.

John Simm as Lennon
Clive Owen as Ringo :D
Not sure about the other two.

HAHAHAHA!! Clive Owen as Ringo?

Okay....you wanna get nuts?! Let's get nuts!!

Brad Pitt as John
Tom Cruise as Ringo
Hugh Jackman as Paul
Johhny Depp as George

Now you're just being silly!

James McAvoy would fit nicely in there, probably as John or George.

Justin Long was great as George in Walk Hard.

If they would make a bio-pic of something as big as The Beatles, I think you need to do something really unique instead of the classic bio-pic formula. Like the way Im Not There was unique.

Ryan Gosling as John
Emile Hirsch as Ringo
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Paul
James Franco as George

:word:

Paul Rudd as John Lennon
Jack Black as Paul McCartney
Justin Long as George Harrison
Jason Schwartzman as Ringo Starr

Best movie ever.

Jim Sturgess as Paul would be good since he has expirence with the music. I'd pick Mcavoy as Ringo . Robert Pattinson as Stu Sutcliffe.

I'd rather see a Black Sabbath biopic.

Jason Schwartzman as ringo
Emile Hirsch as george
James McAvoy as john
Jim Sturgess as paul

now that's a movie I'd never go watch

Paul Rudd as John Lennon
Jack Black as Paul McCartney
Justin Long as George Harrison
Jason Schwartzman as Ringo Starr

Best movie ever.

Agreed.

Eh, I wonder how controversial it would be if they cast American actors, or just one of them.

Just one? People would make a fuss, but I dont think it would be too big of a problem.

All four? Total ****storm.

maybe ijust love the beatles too much, but most of these casting suggestions just make me angry, ha ha ha.

It wouldn't be a bad thing. But of course that actor will probably overcome the hate and earn an Oscar nomination.

Billy Crudup kinda looked like George in Almost Famous

Justin Long was great as George in Walk Hard.
QFT. I would be fine with Long as George and Schwartzman as Ringo in a Beatles movie. Jim Sturgess could do Paul, but I'm not really sure about John... Gosling could probably do it I guess?
