yeah... but keith david isnt hot... goliath was sexy
I wouldn't know, but you should read the Wendy Pini foreword to the Gargoyles: Clan Building TPB. She mentioned how Vincent from Beauty and the Beast was sexy. Ron Perlman, who played him, is butt ugly, but the character isn't. It's amazing what layers of makeup can do. They can work the same magic for Keith if you'd prefer.yeah... but keith david isnt hot... goliath was sexy
I posted something similar a while back, http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?p=16438741#post16438741, here are my choices.
Okay, I've been working on this for a little while, and here's my first cast board for what would be the first Gargoyles movie (adapted from the show's opening 5-parter):
![]()
Roger Cross ("24") as GOLIATH
Jon Hamm ("Mad Men") as DAVID XANATOS
Anna Torv ("Fringe") as DEMONA
Rosario Dawson (Death Proof, "Gemini Division") as ELISA MAZA
Brian Cox (X2, The BOURNE movies) as HUDSON
Garrett Hedlund (Four Brothers, Tron Legacy) as BROOKLYN
Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) as LEXINGTON
Seth Rogen as BROADWAY
David Anders ("Alias", "Heroes") as OWEN
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers ("The Tudors") as MAGUS
James Preston Rogers (Outlander) as HAKON
Sarah Bolger ("The Tudors", Spiderwick Chronicles) as PRINCESS KATHARINE
John Rhys-Davies as CAPT. Of THE GUARD
Okay, a few words. First off, I don't want them to ever make a Gargoyles movie. I think the show was as perfect as it can be, and aside from more violence and drawn-out action, there's not much that could be improved by translating the material to live-action. I would much rather see some kind of continuation of the show (I still have to check out the new comics) rather than starting all over again in a new format.
That being said, the opening 5-parter would make an excellent live action movie. On that we can all agree. But after the first five, the show goes into full on episodic TV series mode, and to my eyes translating those complex characters and those long-form stories into subsequent 2-hour films would be a logistical nightmare. I don't know how they would be able to do sequels. But of course, that hasn't stopped me from casting everyone.
More cast boards to follow...
I just got to say that you were spot on on Everything. Am i the only one that finds it strange how similar the voice actors looked towards their characters?....
Keith David is to Goliath what Peter Cullen is to Optimus Prime. If you have a "Gargoyles" movie without him as Goliath, it would be a failure.
