Coincidence, I've liked McGinley as JJ for a while.

He's a great choice though - his character in Scrubs is very JJ like.

Yeah he is, I don't think you can top JK but McGinley could come closest of anyone I can think of.

If they were willing to bring JK back, that would be amazing - he'd fit right in.

IMO, the hardest character to (fan)cast is Uncle Ben.

Well if they aren't doing an origin he will be dead, and I don't see much reason in doing a flashback and if they do I doubt they will cast someone major in the role.

I guess if you don't want Kenny to be the big guy football player then i guess this is fine. There would be no reason for his nickname 'King Kong' since Hill is barely 5'7.

Also if you want his last name to actually be Kong instead of just a nickname like it was in the Ultimate Comics then he should be played by an Asian actor. Otherwise just call him Kenny McFarlane like in the comics.

Well if it's a high school reboot, he wouldn't work. Otherwise yes. But he's capable of playing a lot bigger characters in the MCU if he wanted too

Stone returning is highly unlikely, as is anyone from Sony's franchise returning.

What I'm saying is that I don't think Gwen should be even used in the story unless it's something like a cameo. The story is one and done and most are going to associate the role with Stone anyway.

It'd be similar to what the Bond franchise did with M, but even smaller since it'd just be a cameo.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd be fine with Gwen not appearing for at least the first few movies.

I think it would mainly depend on where Peter is with his life. Gwen is considered more of the highschool GF. But then Ultimate came along and made it MJ.

If it were up to me, all of Peter's potential love interests would be introduced. MJ, Gwen, Liz, Betty, Felicia, Sally. MJ would be the one he ends up with in the end. Plus, Marvel doesn't seem to want to focus on the love story very much.

But I think what's the point? Her death has always been one of the rawest moments of Spidey's life and it increases the tension between him and the Goblin.

TASM2 robbed us of that impact.

I though Gwen's death was handled well, and I don't have much of a desire to see it depicted again. There's other major storylines to be brought to life, Kraven's Last Hunt especially.

I agree. I think that there are a lot of widower esque characters who usually get new love interests and then have a stressed relationship with them because of the former late lover. Whether at Sony or Marvel, Gwen doesn't need to be rehashed to be a specter.
